University Degree or College Diploma in a related field (Human Resources, Business, Diversity Studies) and/or equivalent experience

More than 1 year experience designing and administering frameworks and policies that support accessibility initiatives

Champion usability over compliance, and universal, inclusive design over segregated, bifurcated experiences

Align closely with Seismic’s Accessibility Program Manager; meet with them at least biweekly

Perform at least one presentation per Quarter to internal practice groups, for purposes of education and evangelization

Strongly weighted credential: IAAP certification.

Represent accessibility by participating on Learner Experience and college wide working groups and initiatives.

Support students who are attempting to access the federal and provincial schedule 4 grant for students with permanent disabilities.

5+ years working with adults with disabilities in a post-secondary setting.

Provide Support to Accessibility Services employees and LLSC manager

Consult with the Senior Accessibility Advisor or Accessibility Services Manager when collecting complex assessment reports

Diploma in Office Administration or equivalent post-secondary education

2+ years of experience in reception, administrative, customer service

Inform new students of the need to provide documentation of a disability

Assist students with the completion of intake forms prior to advisor appointments

4 years of experience in product management, consulting, co-founder or related technical role.

2 years of experience in Accessibility Product Management

Work on Chrome's UI to improve the experience for users with disabilities, including those who rely on third-party assistive technology.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

2 years of experience building and shipping technical products

Experience with assistive technologies such as screen readers, refreshable braille displays, magnifiers, switch access, head tracking, and/or voice control

• Knowledge of OHRC and AODA legislation and experience addressing complex accessibility needs within an educational setting.

• Organizational, time management, priority setting skills.

• Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, Budget Display, Excel, and electronic case management.

• Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.

• Oral and written communication skills - public speaking

• Training in alternative dispute resolution.

5+ years experience as an Accessibility Specialist

Experience in building best practices for accessibility compliance

Assess and audit applications/systems and provide compliance information against WCAG2 and EN301 549

Identify, evaluate and test the accessibility of existing and in-flight IT applications and tools

Gaps identified should address accessibility barriers in relation to content design

Provide written remediation strategies including an action plan to address any gaps
