Construction Worker Jobs

Lafarge Canada is looking for an Asphalt Labourer to join our construction crews.

Safety is the number one priority and the successful candidate will need to follow group policies, promote safe working practices, and describe and promote safe behavior.

• Assist in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices.
• May be called upon to run small power tools.
• Spotting and flagging.
• General laborer duties associated with all aspects of road construction including base and paving
• Required ability to shovel, rake and handle other small tools.
• Follow instructions from your supervisor or manager
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Ability to work safely and follow safety guidelines
• Operate equipment as needed.

Daily Work Details

• Work locations are in and around Vernon BC and will vary during the construction season
• Start dates vary depending on spring conditions. In previous seasons work usually wraps up December

• Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
• Overtime as required
• Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required
• Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt
• Valid Driver’s License
