The Component Maintenance Manager works in the COE Airframe within Fleet Management & Planning and may:
- Can be called upon to work from Germany or any other locations where Top aces fleet operates for extensive periods as required
- Manage component maintenance budget (estimate, approve, track)
- Work on a multitude of portfolios as priorities and requirements evolve
- Liaise with AMOs’ Maintenance Planners to schedule the completion of required Maintenance tasks
- Applicable Canadian Air Regulations: 706.02, 706.05, 706.06, 706.14, 726.02, 726.04, 726.05, 726.06.
- Liaise with COE Demands to ensure parts requirements are clearly identified and priorities passed on to International Supply Chain (ISC) to meet the forecasted maintenance plan.
- Develop and maintain processes for component maintenance management
- Track status of parts against Maintenance Program (use RAMCO or other system)
- Service Information Reviews, AD, SB, Acceptable Data, ICA,
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Liaise with vendor and Intermediate level maintenance organizations internal to TAI for completion of maintenance and repairs or development of alternate parts.
- Advise and report on the current approved configuration and coordinate inclusion on supplemental manuals and other related documents
- Using the programs’ planned aircraft usage rates as provided by the Director of Operations, develop/update the maintenance forecast for the fleet, focusing on the period of the past 3 months. The fleet plan must take into account the coordination and deconflict the requirements of the other fleet managers for the same program.
- Generate and Issue Special Inspections as required
- Forecast the parts, within component maintenance manager scope, and maintenance requirement for the upcoming fiscal year and to sustain maintenance plan
- Assist in the provision of maintenance control for engines on behalf of the company AOC as described in the MCM / MPM
- Assist on technical investigation of reliability issues and support/coordinate solution implementation
- Define scope/ maintenance requirements for parts repair
- Actively participate in company SMS
- Elaborate plan for all major activities as elaborated by Fleet Managers
- Support director of COE engines in his/her function when needed
- Assess feasibility and coordinate parts alternate/ repair projects
- Oversight of the accomplishment of the Maintenance Program including scheduled inspections
- Assist the Fleet Management group with;
- Perform obsolescence management; maintain an Engine program to identify components and parts that will need to be substituted.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
- The component maintenance manager may be tasked by the AOC to perform other maintenance activities in support of the programs and their AMOs.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Excellent written and oral presentation of aircraft maintenance and configuration information
- Minimum 7 years of progressively increasing experience in the execution and management of aircraft maintenance;
- Demonstrates strong and visible support of our values.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the Control of maintenance (adherence to schedules, direction of activities)
- Highly experienced in the use of automated data retrieval systems and spreadsheets for the management of maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including full proficiency in Excel
- Experience in the entry, retrieval, and management of aircraft maintenance records.
- Ability to perform all work in support of our Corporate Values of Safety, Teamwork, Focus, Innovation and Integrity
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Experience in the preparation of Fleet Management Reports
Working Conditions
- Urgent airworthiness issues and operational availability problems will require immediate addressing. This can result in the requirement to work outside normal office hours.
- Occasional visits to aircraft maintenance facilities (company and vendor) are required.
- Travel is occasionally required
Supervisory, Training and Advisory Responsibilities:
- This role has an advisory nature with respect to the execution of component maintenance and the interpretation of the maintenance requirements of the aircraft. The component maintenance Manager is also to represent the subject matter expert for the state of the fleet in terms of aircraft and documentation configuration.
Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities:
You will have the following responsibilities to comply with the company's Occupational Health and Safety program:
- Working in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety acts and regulations
- Reporting hazards (such as unsafe situations and activities) to their supervisor immediately.
- Following safe work practices and procedures and using safeguards and personal protective equipment
Security Clearance Requirements/ CGP / ITAR:
Position requires Level 2 Clearance with the Canadian Government and the ability to gain access to the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.
