Community Engagement Manager (Contract)

About the Job

The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for identifying, fostering, and maintaining relationships with CILAR stakeholders, including (but not limited to) project participants, sponsors, funders, and senior executives in the innovation economy. As the lead facilitator of the community engagement platform, this role involves overseeing the content creation for the platform, creating and seizing opportunities for engagement, facilitating connections between community members, and optimizing the user experience. The Community Engagement Manager will work closely with the Executive Director and Program Team to meaningfully engage stakeholders through projects, events, and other opportunities.

This is an 8-month contract.

Role and Responsibilities

• Communicate with stakeholders to strengthen relationships and enhance stakeholder experiences.
• Establish, maintain, nurture and leverage stakeholder relationships
• Work in collaboration with the Program Team to cultivate new relationships and strengthen existing ones.
• In partnership with the Communications Team, contribute to website content and functionality to enhance engagement and strategic partnership programs and outreach.
• Develop and disseminate a feedback survey to understand the needs of organizations currently engaged in the work of CILAR.
• Organize and oversee events for CILAR stakeholders.
• Identify potential project partners and participants, supporters, sponsors and funders to expand CILAR’s reach and impact.
• Focus on stakeholder experience excellence, including report development utilizing the SAMETRICA platform.
• Work with the Admin/Ops Team to oversee and lead the engagement agreement process, preparing necessary materials and coordinating meetings with the Executive Director.
• Support CILAR’s program evaluation and communicate program impact to stakeholders.
• Lead engagement opportunities by providing oversight and facilitation on the community engagement platform .
• Identify and design new CILAR programs to align with stakeholder priorities.
• Develop and implement strategies for retention of existing sponsors and partners and recruit and cultivate opportunities for new organizations to engage in the work of CILAR by showcasing engagement benefits.

General Qualifications

Required

• 5-7 years of program management experience
• Strong growth mindset and a great team player.
• Familiarity with cultures and terminologies of the innovation sector including industry, government, and the academic community.
• An undergraduate degree from a recognized university
• Must be legally able to work in Canada.
• 3-4 years of experience working with senior executives, leaders, stakeholder engagement
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and G-Suite.
• English language proficiency is required.

Assets

• Experience with community engagement and learning platforms such as Disco, Circle, etc.
• Fluency in French.
• Experience working with MONDAY.com, Eventbrite, and Zoom.
• Experience with or knowledge of the charitable and non-profit sector.
