Purpose of the Job
To assist the Commercial Operations and Analytics team with the generation of reporting for a variety of frequencies (daily, weekly, monthly) for the Commercial lending department. The Intern will be trained on all aspects of reporting processes, which will include but are not limited to sourcing and extraction of data, data cleansing, report generation, communication to internal stakeholders. The Intern will also become familiar with the Bank’s established policies and
procedures as well as federal compliance regulations while finding creative solutions to meet internal deadlines and provide support to the Commercial department.
Work Term: September 4, 2023 to December 29, 2023.
The Work

• 35% on a weekly basis, the Intern will assist with various administrative duties such as reporting, pipeline management and ad-hoc projects.
• 65% on a daily basis, the Intern will assist with the preparation of extensive financial and regulatory reports for Senior Management, The Board of Directors and external regulators as required, to monitor the operations and the status and condition of the Commercial portfolio. The incumbent will be required to provide detailed and accurate analysis and reporting on portfolio performance, risk and other portfolio metrics.

• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities.
• Currently enrolled in University or College program (Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics or Data Science is preferred).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to respond in a clear, concise and professional manner
• Demonstrated ability using MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
• Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Use of MySQL, SQL Studio Management, and Python is not a prerequisite but is an asset.

The incumbent will be working hybrid and in office time will be spent working from Equitable Bank’s additional office space located at 351 King Street East, Toronto, ON.
