Job Description
CLINICAL EDUCATOR ROLE OVERVIEW:
Responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of educational and clinical initiatives that support the business objectives for assigned accounts and/or geographies for the Advanced Wound Management (AWM) portfolio. Reporting into the Regional Sales Manager (RSM), this role works in collaboration with the RSM, Key Account Managers (KAM), Account Managers, Marketing, and Medical Education (the TEAM) to ensure a coordinated effort is mobilized towards meeting sales, profit, and clinical education objectives. This role is critical to the effective launch and onboarding of new technologies and for the general education and training for S&N field staff and clinical customers. As the AWM clinical expert, this role must build relationships with KOLS and key clinical program managers to drive product adoption and patient care pathway alignment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • In-field customer product/procedure training for on-going education, trials, and new product launch initiatives. Establish evaluation protocol and metric modelling with RSM/AM. Focus on train-the-trainer mentality. Leverage virtual/on-line training and support where appropriate. The goal is for our customers to feel not only confident using our products, but actively seeking to use more S+N AWM products:
  • On-going alignment with customers (e.g., distributors, end-users) on their training needs and implementation
  • Conduct consultative calls/meetings with Health Care Providers and hospital decision makers
  • Call points across the continuum of care: Surgeons, Physicians, Nurses (Staff, RN, APN), NSWOC's, Educators, Provincial committees, value analysis committees
  • Facilitate an adoption of empowerment approach for customer education and product training, both internally and externally
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support development of treatment pathways/algorithms and product formulary
  • Weekly priority/task alignment with the RSM. Collaborate with the TEAM to develop business plans, clinical/educational strategies and tactical implementation plans for assigned strategic/target accounts.
  • Complete customer assessments to determine additional training resource requirements. Align with the TEAM on an execution plan
  • Maintain comprehensive product knowledge and references for clinical research and evidence that supports key messaging, including best practice recommendations and disseminate that information to the TEAM
  • Be the clinical expert following-up on customer inquiries related to product features, indicated uses and complex scenarios/troubleshooting
  • Be the clinical expert, supporting customer meetings, presentations, and business reviews.
  • Share best practices across the organization on a regular basis
  • Support onboarding and ongoing sales training
  • Assess and triage issues related to product performance and function
  • Collaborate with Marketing team to create/validate clinical resources for customers, adapt global resources to local markets (e.g., PICO application tips and tricks)
  • Maintain knowledge of formal complaint process
  • Miscellaneous tasks:
  • Align with the TEAM to identify KOLs/public speakers and to develop their AWM clinical acumen and partnership alignment optimization, as well as content validation
  • Collect competitive data and work with the TEAM to build conversion strategies and tactical plans
  • Support labs, workshops, and conferences across Canada
  • Deliver clinical presentations to clinical value analysis regional committees
