Business Systems Analysts within the Information Technology team are the catalysts for transformation and strategic advantage in Just Energy. The Business Systems Analyst acts as a consultant, providing IT solutions to solve business challenges, and acts as a bridge between IT and various business units requiring IT services. This position requires strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills. The chosen candidate must be a mature individual who is able to work with minimal supervision, contribute to a positive work environment and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
Your key accountabilities:

• Manage projects and changes as assigned throughout the SDLC; from inception to roll-out. Remove obstacles, Inform and enable project teams for successful implementation.
• Provide input and take actions to resolve escalated production issues. Take steps to minimize future issues.
• Work with IT implementation teams to ensure that tools or software packages are implemented according to specification and function correctly before they are released to production. Follow up on delivery, review and report results after roll-out.
• Partner with operational groups to design (or redesign), optimize processes, and implement new business processes and systems to improve Just Energy’s operations.
• Develop, maintain, and strengthen effective relationships with business stakeholders. Engage with business and IT stakeholders to prioritize changes and projects to align IT priorities with business objectives.
• Create tools in various platforms (SQL, Excel, SharePoint, etc.) to help manage the day-to-day responsibilities or create reports for various functional areas.
• Remain flexible with multiple shifting priorities and effectively function under deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Document business, functional, and technical requirements for implementing solutions to support business strategies.
• Work with business stakeholders and external partners to analyze business challenges, design practical and attainable solutions.

Your background includes:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with experience writing business requirements, user stories and use cases, process flows, and functional specifications.
• Ability to actively listen, visualize and brainstorm with customers to create optimal solutions to complex business problems.
• Undergraduate degree preferably of a technical or engineering orientation.
• Minimum 2-4 years of experience in business systems analysis or a similar technical role.
• Proven effectiveness at managing multiple tasks of varying complexities, meeting tight deadlines and working well under pressure.
• Knowledge of Project Management principles and software development life cycle is a must.
• Working experience with CRM and Billing Systems is an asset.
• Experience as part of an Agile Team (in a distributed setting in multiple geographic locations) with demonstrated understanding of the Agile mindset would be a desired skill.
• Experience in designing complex, multi-tier, web-based, database-driven software applications is an asset.
• Self-starter, results-oriented and motivated with excellent analytical and technical skills.
