Position Overview

You are team oriented, motivated, and have a high attention for details, accuracy and can prioritize tasks. You will play a key role at one of our remote exploration camps by performing all primary responsibilities in a timely manner independently. This position reports to the Camp Lead.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

The Build Crew Laborer performs a wide range of duties including some or all the following:

• Practice good housekeeping in the work area always
• Report all incidents and accidents immediately
• Participate in daily Toolbox meetings
• Support camp lead on additional duties outside of your labor position when needed
• Camp Labor will help with the tear down of a camp
• Work in a team environment or independently
• Perform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures
• Participate in daily Toolbox meetings
• Perform labor intensive duties by lifting to 50lbs

Requirements

• Previous experience working in remote camp setting
• Be in good health and physically lift with the ability to life a minimum of 50 lbs
• Ability to work in cold weather and hot weather conditions in the field
• Able to lift and move heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor
• WHIMS Certification
• Able to maintain a high level of performance over a 12 hour shift
• Carpentry experience is an asset
• Valid Drivers License preferred (Class 1 or heavy haul endorsement an asset)
• Highly motivated, team-oriented individual with attention to detail
• Standard First Aid Certification
• Organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Minimum of three (3) years working in a remote camp as a Laborer
• Knowledge of small manual and powered hand tools
• Ability to work a rotation schedule
• Good communication skills

Preferred Licensing & Certifications:

• Standard First Aid Certification
• WHIMS Certification
• Valid Drivers License preferred (Class 1 or heavy haul endorsement an asset)
• Previous experience working in remote camp setting
