NEXT Supply is the new generation of supplier in wholesale Plumbing and Hydronics –setting superior standards in service, product availability and delivery. NEXT has strategically located local warehouses across the GTA, each with a full quantity of inventory and strong, strategic delivery capabilities.
The Branch Manager is responsible for providing operational leadership and direction to the Hamilton location in order to drive profitability and accomplish corporate objectives. This role creates and executes the branch business plan, ensuring resourcing needs are in place to accomplish goals and successfully meet the strategic growth plans of this location by providing excellent customer service to its clients. The Branch Manager leads a team to meet all objectives and is responsible for coaching and developing their employees to their full potential.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Service
- Manage relationships with primary customers and suppliers to resolve any issues or challenges and consistently review opportunities to drive business growth.
- Deal with unsatisfied customers and have the ability to diffuse a confrontational situation with a win-win solution in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain a competitive edge in the industry by understanding external market changes and leveraging this knowledge to contact potential clients to grow the business.
- Ensure that the counter is properly staffed, and inventory levels are maintained for key items resulting in quick turnaround service for customer.
- Act as the company ambassador by building strong relationships with clients and providing exceptional service that is consistent with NEXT values.
- Ensure product knowledge is current and relevant in order to assist and educate customers to make the best decisions based on their needs.
Sales
- Direct Sales Representatives to new sales and margin opportunities.
- Build new customer relationships, manage existing ones, and build loyalty within your market.
- Review reports and develop action plans to increase your branch’s sales performance and customer satisfaction.
Operations
- Manage all staffing needs based on hours of operation to ensure that coverage is available for all shifts and providing support for all functions as required.
- Manage and directing all warehouse operations including maintenance of inventory levels, ordering of product, product delivery and pick up.
- In partnership with the Credit Manager, open new accounts for customers and check available credit.
- Coordinate annual inventory process involving cycle counts, demand, trends, min/max calculations, approval of RMA’s and inventory reconciliation.
- Review all operational reports to identify issues or concerns and put plans in place to ensure the smooth operation of the branch.
- Maintain a clean facility and overseeing layout to promote a safe and secure location, ensuring that all space is properly maximized.
- Responsible for branch security measures by opening and closing branch based on hours of operation and overseeing the cash deposit activities.
- Submit all documentation in a timely manner including employee payroll/new hire information, accounting processes.
- Liaise with Branch Coordinator on a regular basis to keep informed on any matters relevant to branch.
- Partner with Human Resources for all Health and Safety related information including inspections, training for all new hires, risk assessments and Emergency Preparedness plan.
Human Resources and Financial Planning
- Coordinate all required training for employees to ensure they are equipped and set up for success to perform in their role.
- Foster a culture that is team oriented and collectively focused on meeting or exceeding customer expectations by leading by example, communicating expectations, and making sound management decisions.
- Manage the performance of employees on an ongoing basis, providing mentoring and growth opportunities when possible, and encouraging an engaged and empowered culture.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of plumbing and hydronic supplies is an asset.
- Ability to react quickly and provide solutions to problems.
- Strong leadership with the ability to manage and develop a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- 5+ year(s) of previous management experience is an asset.
- Computer literate.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management, logistics and inventory management.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
