Senior Drupal Developer

Location: Ottawa or Toronto – Remote

Term: 12 Months + EXT

Clearance: Enhanced Reliability Issued Clearance - Mandatory

You will be responsible for analyzing, developing and delivering technical solutions for the Platform and Channel sub-domain that satisfy the business requirements, and align with enterprise architecture. The Drupal Developer will also work with incident management teams to investigate and resolve issues and defects as they build out the application. We are an Agile organization, so previous exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies is a big plus.

DUTIES

• Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture, ensuring high-performance and availability
• Understand functional requirements as outlined in the user stories
• Responsible for helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme.
• Provide support to for testing during product and user acceptance testing
• Responsible for designing and implementing new features and functionality
• Investigate and provide post implementation support of the technical solution implemented
• Perform code review in critical functionality areas with team members

MUST HAVE

• 6+ Working knowledge of REST APIs and web services
• Exceptional problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with Agile software development practices
• 6+ Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
• Proficiency in using Git / Bitbucket
• 6+ Experience creating custom Drupal modules
• Knowledge of PHP, PHP files and theme functions, and knowledge of the Drupal theme layer
• 6 + years experience developing web solutions in Drupal
• 6+ Advanced site-building experience including deep familiarity with Drupal modules such as CTools, Views, and Panels
• 6+ Experience building responsive websites using Drupal CMS, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery
• 6+ Experience working with Cloud technologies
• Through understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing) and exposure to Agile or iterative SDLCs.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with CI/CD best practices and tools such as Jenkins, Microservices, OpenShift, SonarQube, etc.
• Experience implementing WCAG standards and specifications, particularly in Angular applications
• Secure coding practices, including spring security, and knowledge of common OWASP security findings
• Knowledge of and experience working with IBM API Connect
• Current with the latest technology, trends, and best practices
