Pacific Coastal Airlines is seeking a permanent full time Base Supervisor based in Lethbridge to support our Capacity Purchase Agreement with WestJet, operating as WestJet Link in the region. Pacific Coastal Airlines is headquartered at the South Terminal building at Vancouver International Airport. Under the Pacific Coastal banner we fly scheduled and charter service between busy international airports, remote destinations, and beautiful communities in the province of British Columbia and Alberta.


Base Supervisor is a functional leadership position responsible for providing supervision, direction, support and training to all Customer Service Agents at the Lethbridge base. The successful individual will be expected to role model behaviors that respect the corporate values, professionalism, diversity and service excellence to our internal and external customers.


Job Responsibilities


  • Prepare monthly and annual reports within prescribed timelines
  • Foster and maintain a culture that is respectful, supportive and engaging
  • Complete annual employee evaluations
  • Challenge the teams' capacity by establishing and achieving annual safety, health and operational goals and objectives
  • Monitor and audit all areas of the base operations to ensure compliance with all published standards and regulatory requirements
  • Identify, address and support employee performance in a timely manner and engage in effective progressive discipline as necessary
  • Actively participate in Base Supervisor team meetings
  • Provide leadership, training and performance management to all team members
  • Develop appropriate corrective action plans to resolve operational audit findings with the goal to improve the department's overall safety, increase operational effectiveness and reduce operational costs
  • Build a strong, competent and cohesive team of employees that are motivated to support the Company's vision and uphold and reflect positively on the Company's values
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Prepare work schedules, ensure adequate and efficient staffing
  • Approve timesheets and authorize overtime hours according to standards
  • Ensure adequate training, currency checks and daily communication support
  • Ensure all ground operations are conducted in a structured, organized, efficient fashion, without sacrificing public safety, or the quality standards


Qualifications And Competencies


  • Experience working with Sabre is an asset
  • Minimum of two years' experience in supervisory or management role
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a customer service environment
  • Aviation/airline operations experience is a very strong asset


Abilities


  • Planning, forecasting, goal setting, coaching skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to motivate, engage and inspire team members
  • Computer Skills (Web, Excel, Word and Intelisys)
