The Opportunity:

• Support the Data Governance team in developing data quality and metadata management functionalities that will be used by Investment Departments and Core Services.
• Provide ongoing support for Data Governance capabilities such as metadata management, data quality and data stewardship/reporting.
• Develop data quality data gathering and reporting workflows.
• Pro-actively communicate and collaborate with internal business clients to analyze functional requirements and deliver the appropriate artifacts as needed: business requirement documents, functional specifications, data specifications, use cases, workflow analysis, metrics, reports and user-interface layouts and designs.
• Support development of appropriate data quality standards and policies, with an understanding of various internal and external data sets flowing through our systems.
• Develop and / or Enhance data quality tableau dashboard to provide technology and business teams with data quality insights
• Work alongside engineers and solutions architects, develop and promote data quality rules in Python and data quality tools
• Ensure that new enhancements address immediate business needs, while ensuring system alignment with data strategy and roadmaps.

Qualifications

• Experience working with AWS and / or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience working with financial data such as: security master data, IBOR/ABOR data, fundamentals data, market data. Experience working with alternative data an asset
• Graduate or undergraduate degree in business and finance or other quantitative discipline (e.g. applied mathematics, financial economics, statistics, physics, engineering or computer science)
• Commitment to CPP Investment’s guiding principles of integrity, partnership and high performance
• Experience working with Tableau and Quicksight.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the data lifecycle, including experience with data modeling, metadata, and data quality.
• Practical experience implementing a data governance framework, including metadata management, data quality rules, stewardship and reporting. Proven track record influencing a diverse set of stakeholders to drive outcomes.
• Proven interest in financial and capital markets; enrolment in CFA program is considered an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work individually as well as in a team environment
• Programming experience in several of the following technologies: SQL, JavaScript, HTML, Python, AWS Glue, AWS S3, AWS EMR
