Job Description

Are you a CPA with experience in the not-for-profit industry or government-regulated sector? Our client in Halton, an established government-regulated not-for-profit, is experiencing unprecedented growth and looking to add an Accounting Manager to lead a small team and manage the Accounting & Payroll functions. Role Overview:

As the Accounting Manager, you will report to the Controller and oversee a team of 3 direct reports and a total of 6 staff members. Your primary responsibilities will include managing all day-to-day Accounting and Payroll operations. This entails overseeing full-cycle accounting, month-end close, and Payroll processes. You will ensure accurate recording of financial transactions, review and correct journal entries, and reconcile balance sheet accounts promptly. As a key liaison for the annual audit, you will collaborate closely with external auditors. Additionally, you will provide support to the Controller in preparing the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.


Your Qualifications:

To be considered for the newly-created position of Accounting Manager, you must be a designated CPA. In addition, you must possess strong leadership skills to effectively manage a team. Experience in managing full-cycle accounting and month-end close is essential, along with prior experience in Payroll management. Success in this role requires a solid foundation of technical accounting knowledge and hands-on experience. We value individuals who are detail-oriented and willing to dive into the intricacies of the work. Preference will be given to candidates with strong not-for-profit experience, as well as those who have worked in a government-regulated sector, such as healthcare.
