Application Administrator Jobs

We are seeking a goal-oriented, collaborative, and trusted Application Administrator to join our dynamic IT Services team. Reporting to the Delivery Manager, IT Services, the Application Administrator, will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day operation, support and maintenance of the systems defined within IT Services.

The ideal candidate will act as the first point of contact to handle support request and issue, including set-up and troubleshooting technical issues, logging all incidents properly and following up to ensure all issues are resolved. Also, the candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of multiple client management systems that includes monitoring applications, generation of relevant reports, and integration of data across systems for the purposes of stakeholders reporting.

What the role is all about...

1. Provide IT support related to technical issues onsite and over the phone; perform equipment setup, data center monitoring, and work with office staff in various technical roles

2. Record, categorize and log requests for service, and follow up with ticket owners to ensure resolution in a timely manner

3. Transfer and escalate incidents and problems to other team members or external developers as needed

4. Design and execute test cases on system builds and/or enhancements, record results of tests and the resolution of issues

5. Provide support in key technologies: Apple and Android operating systems, Windows Server and Desktop OS, LAN, WAN, Telephony, Exchange Server, SQL Server, MS Office, Office 365, MS Dynamics, Backup Methodologies, Mac OS & Various Types of Office Equipment and maintain other applicable databases systems

6. Develop and update internal and external technical support documentation (e.g., manuals, guides, training slides, help sheets, FAQs) from a technical writing perspective

7. Assesses quality assurance-related training needs and develops internal training materials

8. Participate in project walkthroughs, business requirements gathering, design walkthroughs, functional test plans, and implementation sessions Work independently and collaboratively to accomplish responsibilities, goals, and projects

9. Identify, develop, and configure solutions to address business requirements and usability concerns

10. Document data processes and procedures and identify new processes to enhance data collection

What we hope you will bring…

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant software/computer related fields or or equivalent experience

2 + years’ experience in managing and supporting technology within common IT Services:

• Network Services: Firewall (i.e. Sophos), Switch (i.e. Cisco), ISP connectivity
• Managed Server / Cloud Services: Windows Server (Active Directory), File/Print Server, Cloud platforms (i.e. Azure, AWS)
• Managed Desktop Services: End User support (Laptop, Printer, OS, etc…), Remote Access tools (i.e. Team Viewer)
• Applications: O365, MS Exchange Server, Cisco WebEX, Web Applications (SAP Concur, QBES, etc…), Mobile Apps (IOS/Android platforms), Service Desk apps (Fresh Service), Web Development

Skills, Attributes and Abilities

• Has a developing to advanced-level understanding of XML, HTML, JavaScript, CSS and SQL; Can run more advanced queries and execute scripts with some guidance
• Experience and understanding of database stored procedures and ETL layers.
• Experience in technical writing is an asset;
• Familiarity with Microsoft Server Technology (e.g.; Windows / SQL Server)
• Experience in quality assurance/ with a quality assurance background
• Basic knowledge of ‘Software as a Service’ Solutions (SAAS) and some experience of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) is an asset.
