JOB DESCRIPTION
Associates work directly with our Consultants and Managing Partners, supporting the application process of the firm's clients, which includes various tasks such as preparing resumes and essays.
A successful Associate can become a full-time Consultant of the firm in one to two years.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR THE FOLLOWING (MUST HAVE ALL FROM THE LIST)
- Passionate about the role of education in society and helping people achieve their personal and professional goals.
- Highest attention to detail, organized, and methodical.
- Capacity to work well independently and organize and manage multiple tasks within demanding deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral communication. Outstanding ability to communicate complex ideas in writing.
- Current senior student or recent university graduate with an English or Journalism background.
- Ability to "connect" with people and build rapport with clients and prospects.
- Availability and flexibility to work seasonal hours, which may include weekday evenings and weekends.
- MUST live in Canada. We have a strong preference for candidates residing in HALIFAX, NS.
TIME COMMITMENT
The Associate role is considered a part-time/contract position within the firm. Our busiest periods are during the late summer, fall, and early winter. Associates can expect to dedicate approximately 20 hours per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work closely with the firm's Consultants and Managing Partners throughout the admissions cycle to support in activities related to the application process, which includes resume and essay writing, interview prep, school selection, school research, etc.
- Proactively perform school and industry research and stay up-to-date on the graduate school admissions process.
- Contribute to the firm's mission and development by participating in staff meetings, conducting presentations, and developing consultant and client resources.
