PRODUCTION SHIFT Supervisor(S)
Position: Production Shift Supervior(s)
Reporting to: Production Manager
Definition:
Overall responsibilities include but not limited to supervising the entire production process – from receiving-mixing-baking-packing to delivery – ensuring daily and weekly production targets (batches/cases/pieces) are met and contribute to purchase orders being delivered on-time and in-full with 97 % fill level expectation.
Job Summary:
Responsible for satisfying customer production needs by ensuring products are produced and delivered on-time and in-full according to the Production Schedule as set out by Production Manager/Planner. He/she will be coordinating and supervising day-to-day plant operations by working with a team of line workers and staff leads in Mixing and Packaging areato ensure the timely production of products in accordance with production schedule targets and safety standards implemented and communicated by the SQF Practitioner and Q.C. Manager.He/she will also be responsible for working with S/R and truck drivers to ensure product is delivered after production on-time and in-full.
Responsibilities:
- Be able to step into roles of baker/packer/shipper/receiver/maintenance
- Ensure production team hits production targets and input recommendations for increased efficiency and overall proficiency gains
- Continuously improve operational productivity by overlooking each process of production and making improvements where necessary
- Work with QA and Safety to ensure certifications and food safety is maintained
- Work with Production Manager to establish targets; delegate tasks accordingly
- Work with Production Manager to identify raw material, packaging and labour needs based on work environment and inventory reports;
- Assist with planning production on a rolling 14-day system or a system that establishes best on time practises
- Schedule staff on a 2 week/6 week rolling schedule to ensure that the plant is properly staffed to meet production levels and targets and to evaluate performance and efficiency measures
- Monitor plant output, cuts/yields and waste to ensure efficient resource utilization and initiate corrective action as required
- Realize daily/weekly/monthly targets set by the Production Manager
- Make key production decisions to ensure the timeliness of purchase orders
- Develop and coach the Production team, evaluate performance, and initiate corrective action as required
Liaises:
- Work with/report to Production Manager, Quality Control and Food Safety, Other Production Shift Managers
- Liaise with Sales, Production Planning, Customer service to ensure that transparent production dates are communicated effectively, especially to customer if necessary
- Oversee directly Baking, Packing, Shipping/Receiving and Maintenance
- Direct report to General Manager Plant Operations

Requirements:
- Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to Hollandia management
- Bachelors Degree from post secondary institution or equivalent is an asset
- Delegate responsibilities effectively
- Demonstrated leadership and decision making skills in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives
- 3+ years experience in manufacturing with supervisory position is an asset; preferably food
- Action-oriented with ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Previous cross-functional and/or teamwork experience
- High comfort level working in a diverse environment
- Persuasive with details and facts and convincing as a figure of authority
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Proven track record in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives
- Excels at operating in a fast pace, community environment
- Strong attention to detail to produce and ship on-time and in-full
Compensation: Competitive Industry compensation: Range depending on experience : 18.00-20.00/hour, position available immediately in Mount Brydges, ON Canada (near London Ontario).. Benefits after 6 months
