Understand the Prime Contract invoicing requirements. Maintain required billing backups. Prepare monthly invoice package for approval by Project Manager.

Maintain commercial change order list and track internal change orders. Reflect them in our cost and revenue forecast accordingly.

6 months minimum experience in related engineering or project accountant/cost control related position or project scheduling

Some basic knowledge of company ERP systems, and/or scheduling applications would be beneficial.

Review and code internal time sheets, supplier PO and invoices, and subcontract LEMs if required.

Perform stakeholder management to ensure sound project controls principles, processes and procedures are upheld

Employ Earned Value Management principles in project tracking and reporting

Manage project activities in P6, integrating vendor activities as required

5 year of relevant working experience

Facilitate and establish project baseline plans

Support project progression through phased gates

Perform project costing-related reporting to the team and management

Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a Project Cost Controls role.

Experience in the Oil Gas industry, Industrial Construction and/or Fabrication is an asset.

You have excellent communications skills.

Responsible for controlling and monitoring project total expenditure

Provide planning and cost controlling support for all projects which include variation reporting, progress monitoring, preparation of customer billing processes, etc.

Analyzing expenses and cost transactions; ensures that transactions are recorded accurately and assigned to the appropriate projects and departments.

Conducting market research as needed to recommend changes to pricing or business models.

Preparing periodic cost reconciliation reports tracking data such as changing labor and supply costs.

Performs other related duties, as assigned.

3-5 years project management experience with relevant education/training. PMP certification an asset.

Manage all areas of the project including, contract management, financials, schedules, labour requirements, materials, deficiencies, etc.

Risk management, change management and contract administration knowledge preferred

Solid technical knowledge of Building Automation Controls with trades qualification as an asset

Experience working within the Technology Industry and familiarity with local consultants and engineers preferred

Strong computer skills required including proficiency with MS Office, Procore and Accubid

5+ years of cost management experience on site in construction

Strong analytical skills in data management and analysis

Work with project controls team to support internal and client cost management expectations

Support project team with change management ensuring changes are estimated and tracked in accordance with the project work breakdown structure

Support project management with quarterly profit/loss forecasting

Strong understanding of cost control workflows including earned value management

Provides appropriate customer support relationships with Project Managers and Senior Managers (e.g., Finance and Pre-Construction) in Operations, Construction and Engineering.

Undergraduate degree in Engineering or equivalent education and experience

Provides monthly project accruals and forecasts to Finance.

Identifies cost and schedule issues and risks to the Project Manager and suggests action plans.

10-12 years’ active, relevant, and applicable experience

Experience and ability to use the following:

Collaborate with the project team, construction team, management, subcontractors and suppliers.

Help with maintenance of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) program baseline and performance analysis.

5 years of experience in project controls supporting the construction industry coupled with great communication, organization and team skills.

Has familiarity with Earned Value Management.

Manage the collection and organization of project cost data

Manage project forecasting, project baseline and progress schedules, with input from project team.

Experienced with Earned Value Management and Project Management Software.

Organization and time-management skills; able to multi-task efficiently and meet deadlines.

Responsible to manage the project scope change management process including estimating, cost management and forecasting (Delays, Productivity Issues, Extra Work, etc).

Oversee the management of CPM resource loaded schedules created and provided by the Scheduling Team, EPC and third part contractors.

Ensure that project cost coding management is appropriate for all original budget cost code allocations, scope changes and internal cost trends.

Responsible to produce Earned Value Management reporting.

Strong working knowledge of Earned Value Management techniques and processes

Manage Earned Value Management change processes

Manage reconciliation process to understand cost model

High level written and verbal communication skills

Create contract review reports and evaluate projects and contracts

Support project planning specialist in accordance with process updates

Demonstrated experience in a project management capacity, including experience with all aspects of process development and execution.

Experience with event coordination, planning and management.

In-depth knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, techniques, tools and best practices .

Superior organizational skills in planning, project management and task coordination.

Experience designing and delivering adult educational, leadership or professional development programs.

Experience advancing equity projects within a post-secondary environment or similar complex organization.

Support the set-up and implementation of the project controls management systems, processes, and workflows

Support the preparation of routine project and ad-hoc status reports and dashboards for project managers, senior management and clients.

Perform change management functions and maintain change management records of scope changes, trends, and variances

Solid software skills in Excel are required, experience with SharePoint, MS PowerBI, MS Teams, Epicor and P6 is preferred

Prepare and organize monthly project forecasts in coordination with the project managers and project accountants

Collaborates with the financial controls team on periodic budgeting and forecasting requirements

Detailed knowledge of scheduling methods, cost control processes, risk management procedures

Team building, staff management and mentoring skills.

Management of the project controls staff assigned to the projects.

Make recommendations on change notices in compliance with best practice change management techniques.

Demonstrated experience working and/or managing the project controls functions with hands on experience on the following:

Demonstrated experience developing and managing project metrics including but not limited to earned value, CPI, SPI

College and/or University degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience

Work with the different functional groups to provide benchmarking information and feedback on risk management accuracy, and support development as required.

Currently in your last year of a university or technical college diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

An understanding of project management, project controls or cost engineering processes would be strongly desired.

Assist and support Risk Director, Project Managers and Project Controls Analysts with risk analysis, benchmarking and document initiatives.

Analyze historical project risk information and manage and maintain risk registers.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

Working knowledge of risk management principles and methodologies.

Good practical knowledge of financial systems, project management techniques (planning, budget control, etc.).

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business administration or related field is preferred.

Proficient in the use of Primavera P6, or at a minimum have a comprehensive knowledge of its use and capabilities.

Define and advise your superiors and project team on specific actions to effectively manage cash flow.

Ensure the timely preparation and accuracy of project invoicing together with the Finance Controller.

Experience with cost management systems a plus (ecosys, prism, cobra, etc) is a plus

Ability to effectively communicate complex cost information to varied audiences including engineering, project/construction management, and project teams.

At least 5 years of project cost controls experience

Ability to write accurate and meaningful project status reports. Advanced Excel skills.

Experience with scheduling software a plus (MS Project, P6)

Demonstrating effective leadership in the execution of cost control activities on projects.
