Student Resiliency Team Counsellor Jobs

Knowledge of lawn and garden maintenance including pruning, weeding and lawn mowing.

Experience with general maintenance including cleaning, painting, changing light bulbs, etc

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Knowledge of the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA),Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Routine Practices, etc

Language skills other than English are an asset.

Maintain knowledge of Klinic’s emergency procedures.

Participate in the preparation, management, and monitoring of the budget for the sports sector;

Act as a resource person, support, and facilitator with our coaches to provide our student-athletes with the best student experience;

Offer, plan, and coordinate intra-mural sports activities;

Great communication skills in English and French (written and spoken)

Knowledge of and experience with trauma-informed practices

Establish a therapeutic relationship to maximize the benefits of engagement with the client

Assess barriers to successful community living (e.g. treatment options, transportation, finances, etc.)

Provide short-term, psychotherapeutic intervention to assist clients in gaining insight and improving coping skills within the framework of the crisis model

Assist clients in developing strategies for managing their health needs according to resources and personal skills available

Experience in mental health and addictions

Minimum five years of counselling experience required

Highly developed oral, written and presentation skills

Experience in single session and brief counselling format is preferred

The emphasis/weightings of duties and responsibilities of individual Counsellors (Instructor) are set at 80% Counselling, 10% Scholarship, 10% Service.

Respond to requests by members of the campus community for participation in specialized educational activities (e.g. workshops, seminars).

Provide clinical supervision for graduate trainees in practicum and internship experiences within Student Wellness Services (Counselling).

Experience conducting client assessments, including risk assessments and a demonstrated capacity to make appropriate recommendations for treatment, support, and risk management

Minimum of five (5) years of experience providing individual and group psychotherapy

Strong generalist skills with specialization and/or expertise in interpersonal psychotherapy, DBT, ACT, and/or other evidence-based practices

Demonstrated research and assessment skills related to program evaluation and assessment of client outcomes

Experience working autonomously and as part of an interprofessional/collaborative care team

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills

Implement a wrap-around case management approach while respecting the confidentiality of each case

Maintain accurate data of services provided to assist and support department requirements, preparing reports and providing support as necessary

Collaborate and consult with the Learning Services support team to develop a learner's success plan

Support and maintain positive rapport with faculty and administration

Maintain a current database of external service providers

Ensure strict confidentiality and privacy of information as it relates to learners, employers, the Institute, and other third parties

A combination of education and experience will be considered.

Proven leadership experience and skills.

Lead and manage process improvement initiatives that impact the Retention team.

Identify, implement, manage, and particiate in Retention operational projects, and College-wide initiatives to achieve College goals.

Liaise with program areas to improve student experience.

5+ years' experience in a supervisory role in a post-secondary setting.

Carries out any other related duties as necessary in keeping with the qualifications and requirements of the job.

Provides welding equipment operations for UBC Engineering Design Student Teams in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.

Safely perform a variety of standard procedures as directed by supervisor; apply their junior working level engineering skills.

Assists and participates in the design, development, fabrication, modification and operation of scientific engineering equipment and instrumentation for student teams.

Demonstrates to users the operation of equipment and instrumentation as required.

Provide in person or written consultation upon request, to Senior Management Team related to student concerns

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Supervise the work of staff reporting to the Manager, Student Advising and Support Services

Minimum 1 year experience providing student supports in a post-secondary setting

Previous experience supervising a team an asset
