2-3 month contract, with possibility for extension

Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm with a 1 hour lunch

Exceptional project management and organizational skills to execute time-sensitive deliverables.

3+ years of commercial management experience working with commercial contracts, preferably supporting construction, EPC, or energy organizations.

Ensuring the accurate implementation of cross-functional contractual requirements such as legal, Health Services and Environment (HSE), insurance, credit, tax, and finance.

At least 2 years of experience as a Paralegal.

Being Responsible for supporting commercial and contract-related aspects of assigned projects in Canada, and the USA.

Familiar with Unit Price T&M and Lump Sum contracts.

Ensure proper update to inventory and asset management system.

At least 3 years of on-site desktop support and customer service support experience.

Must have solid experience with Windows 10 and macOS, especially in an enterprise environment.

Experience with supporting mobile devices (iPhones, Android Smartphones, and tablets) under MDM solution.

Experience supporting cloud-based IT environment (O365, GSuite, Box, SAP, Okta …etc.).

Experience supporting/solve in a SCCM and JAMF environment.

Support the management and monitoring of a construction schedule

Strong computer skills with hands-on working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word

Support project managers, coordinators and foremen a required

Work with Project Managers for reporting and gathering of information

Related work experience is an asset, including from other co-op placements, internships, projects

Experience in the construction industry a strong asset but not mandatory

· 5 years experience co-ordinating capital works projects.

Working for the City of Burlington:

· Completes quantity take-offs and reviews drawings and quantity schedules prepared by the designer for clarity.

· Prepares tender documents, including tender advertisements for Capital Works Projects.

· Attends tender openings, recording bid securities.

· Prepares payment certificates, change work orders, purchase orders, etc.

Excellent verbal and written communication, time management, negotiation and conflict resolution, problem solving, and organizational skills

Knowledge of the requirements of relevant legislation such as the Occupational Health and Safety act and Environmental Protection Act

Manage the construction budget, act as liaison with clients and issue invoices as appropriate

Minimum 8 years' experience in Road and/or Heavy Construction

Knowledge of construction survey and layout

Knowledge of construction methods and materials

Good time management and organizational skills

Provide information on payroll matters, benefit plans and collective agreement provisions

Compile, review, and monitor statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts

Proven work experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software programs - Experience with UKG considered an extreme asset

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Management of responses to Contractor’s RFI’s and clarification requests.

Experience in managing large scale municipal servicing projects with contaminated soils/water including significant dewatering requirements would be an asset

Complete tasks accurately and efficiently with minimum supervision. Other responsibilities as assigned.

A minimum of 7+ years of direct experience in a Contract Administration and Site Inspection role is required.

Experience in working on Infrastructure Ontario projects is would be an asset

Experience in the construction of pumping stations would be considered and asset

Must be thorough and detailed oriented with excellent time management skills to deal with time sensitive material.

Under the direction of the Lead, acts as institutional representative for the negotiation and management of research related contractual agreements;

Maintain a general sense and knowledge of industry activities in order to advise/consult on contract related issues.

5 years’ experience in a contracts administration position is required.

Experience negotiating contracts and interpreting legal clauses and clarifying associated risks for clients.

Experience working within a research environment an asset.

Knowledge of construction/commercial/operational contract administration and claims management techniques and practices in a large multi project complex construction/commercial and infrastructure environment.

Experience in using contract administration systems, such as Primavera Contract Manager and Oracle Unifier.

Systematically manages contract-related correspondence and documentation and ensures tracking of contract deliverables is proactively managed.

Experience with various procurement methods, both traditional and non-traditional (including AFP – Alternate Financing Procurement).

Skilled in the development and communication of internal contract administration policies, procedures and best practices.

Excellent oral/written/presentation skills to assist in standardizing and updating wording for terms of reference and supplemental conditions.
