A Sheet Metal Apprentice is a skilled tradesperson who works with sheet metal to fabricate, assemble, and install products. They typically work in industrial and commercial settings, such as factories, warehouses, and construction sites. To become a Sheet Metal Apprentice, you must first complete a formal apprenticeship program. This program typically lasts three to four years and combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction. During the apprenticeship, you will learn the basics of sheet metal fabrication and installation, as well as safety protocols and industry regulations. Skills required for a Sheet Metal Apprentice include strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
