Job Description
Do you have experience working with Sheet Metal in a manufacturing environment? We have a permanent Sheet Metal Machine Operator opportunity with one of the world's largest systems suppliers for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical sectors!
As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for manufacturing sheet metal components as per drawings. If you want to build your mechanical skills and have the opportunity to cross-train and progress with a stable career, see below for more details!
What you need to know:
Position: Full-time Permanent
Role: Sheet Metal Worker/Machine Operator
Location: Richmond BC
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Shift Time: Morning; 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Pay rate: $26/hr
Public transit friendly!
Steel-toe boots are required
Must be legally permitted to work in BC

Responsibilities
  • Manufacture sheet metal components as per supplied drawings
  • Transferring layout to suit drawing requirements using a variety of measuring instruments and scribing tools
  • Operating various machines including; coil core, power shear/press brake, CNC punching machine, return bend machine, foaming machine, cutting machine, hydraulic punching machines and rolls
  • Completing quality control documentation
  • Determining appropriate manufacturing sequences and work methods
Qualifications
  • Able to read technical drawings
  • Experience with operating Clamp Forklifts and Overhead cranes
  • Can provide valid work references
  • Adaptable and reliable
  • Able to operate hand tools and measuring equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Sound knowledge of using a variety of machines such as power shear, press brake, rolling machine, drilling machine and/or CNC punching machines
  • Knowledge of safe working practices and procedures
  • Capable of completing quality control documentation and able to verify that components meet quality requirements
  • Perform routine machine maintenance
  • Legally permitted to work in BC, Canada
