Assist underwriters in handling all underwriting administration and maintenance of accurate data.

Ensure filing of reinsurance related documentation according to guidelines;

Perform corrections following data quality checks for quarterly closing or renewal preparation as assigned;

Help manage/optimize our relationships with third party vendors

Problem solve to ensure product and customer services are supported, creating the best possible experience for our clients

Data & analytics: Has a history of using data to answer complex problems. SQL & modeling skills are an asset

Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work in collaboration with various team members

Act as a catalyst by bringing the right teams/people together within and/or across teams

Create and optimize existing business processes to improve our efficiency

Minimum 3 years' underwriting management experience in a dynamic, high-volume environment.

Manage employee development, engagement, performance, scheduling, and issue resolution.

Strong people leadership, skill development, and employee engagement.

In-depth knowledge of underwriting processes, tools, and technologies, including credit risk analysis.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

Lead, guide, and support a team of underwriters, emphasizing file support and technical expertise to ensure consistent underwriting and customer-centric approach.

Implementing an up-to-date system to maintain and document regulatory requirements, industry best practices, trends and business requirements.

Mentoring and guiding less experienced underwriters in handling underwriting issues; developing and delivering corresponding training according to departmental needs.

Providing solutions and support for large and complex underwriting risk evaluation processes in a given line of business.

Post-secondary education (diploma/degree) preferred, preferably in business or finance

Have a minimum of 2 years’ commercial mortgage administration experience

Good working knowledge of MS Office (primarily Word and Excel)

Effective analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong business sense combined with sound technical knowledge of secured lending and factors affecting the commercial mortgage market

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

At least 3 years of vendor/relationship management experience

Partner with workforce management for resource planning, hiring and change management.

Manage operations expenditure within agreed budgets and assist in forecasting future spend.

Regularly evaluate the efficiency of existing business procedures and proactively propose improvements to achieve better business outcomes and enhance customer experience.

Use knowledge of up/downstream dependencies and impacts to evolve strategies and influence agendas

Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
