Senior Accounting Associate Jobs

Assist in finance transformation projects;

Strong knowledge of accounting principles including accruals, asset capitalization, and revenue recognition.

Record banking and credit card transactions;

Prepare customer invoices and follow up on collections based on client business rules;

Record supplier bills and process vendor payments based on client business rules;

Record revenue and expenses in client books based on generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) applicable to each client;

Solid understanding of business, accounting, management, tax, and practice development principles

Minimum 5 years’ experience in public practice

Strong organizational skills, punctual, detail-oriented, able to multitask and prioritize tasks

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and able to work well with clients and colleagues

Experience in the design of engagement procedures based on risk and materiality

A natural curiosity and desire to continually acquire new skills

Knowledge and experience with SAP software

Provide support to other accounting staff members when required and it is within your knowledge base

Minimum of 3+ years of of Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable experience in the manufacturing industry

Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

Excellent communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills

Working towards or attained CPA certification

Time management skills to manage complex tasks under tight deadlines, while being able to shift priorities

Assist Supervisor with identifying resourcing requirements for the year based on previous results

Review additional charges processed by other business areas and ensure required approvals are obtained from originating departments, Taxation, and Corporate Finance

An accounting diploma (a 2-year program from NAIT, MacEwan, etc.) and at least three years of accounting experience

Critical thinking skills to be able to properly apply analytical and conceptual skills

Provide technical support, training, and respond to complex inquiries for Accounting Assistants

Ensuring all financial actions comply with local legal requirements

Great interpersonal skills that enable clear and effective communication with other employees and team members

3+ years of experience in related field

Strong organizational and analytical skills

Track expenses, budget, taxes, cash flow, receipts and other financial dealings of company

Provide regular financial reports (weekly, monthly and yearly)

Prepare exhibits as required for various levels of management within the Finance and Operating divisions

Strong communication, writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills and the ability to interact with all levels of management.

Provide warehouse management support for operations

Analyze operating costs and forecast deviations for accounting management and operations

This position reports to the Manager, Mill Accounting.

Manage and perform annual, cycle, and spot inventories

Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in accounting, statutory consolidation, tax, financial management and reporting or related fields

Excellent organizational, time-management, logical reasoning, and numeric skills

Manage collection of timely approval and processing of revenues, expenditures, depreciation, amortization and provisions, general ledgers, account maintenance and data entry.

Support the Finance Director in developing the department strategy and related strategic plans

Manage the interface with shared services on all accounting, tax, and treasury matters.

Experience in coordinating internal and external audits

3+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the financial services industry.

Experience working with complex automated general ledger and fixed assets systems is preferred.

Experience with loan and lease accounting systems is also preferred.

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other relevant software.

Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills are necessary.

Maintain regular contact with Manager or Partners, and provide updates on engagement process

Attend internal and external courses to further develop accounting knowledge

Assist a broad range of small business clients with day-to-day accounting queries

Prepare advanced corporate tax returns and notice to reader financial statements

Assistance with and preparation of personal tax returns

Prepare specialized financial reports as per specific client requests

Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience at the management level in a hedge fund administration environment

Review and validate the partner/shareholder allocation calculations, including management and incentive fee calculations

Review of the weekly / month end NAV pack before presentation to NAV Officer / Manager

Lead/assist with periodic financial reporting for Hedge Funds (i.e. Statement of Assets and Liabilities and Statement of Profit and Loss)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in a hedge fund administration environment or other related financial services experience.

Analytical aptitude, problem solving, self-motivated, strong time management
