Perform reinsurance pricing analyses based on experience and exposure

Develop an understanding of the cost and benefit of reinsurance to client income statements

Strong experience with Microsoft Excel (VBA), Access (SQL), Word, and PowerPoint

Working knowledge of R and/or Python an asset

0-3 years of actuarial experience, P&C experience an asset

Contacts claims and underwriting staff on all issues requiring their intervention; i.e., coding errors and escalates to senior management, as applicable

Provides oversight & management of the global treaty register

Broad knowledge of reinsurance concepts, products and processes is an asset

Perform Single Risk Administration (Cession Management) for a portfolio of clients

Long term contract (2 years)

Emphasise data quality and integrity in every step of the process

Lead the production and review of financial reporting deliverables provided to the Board and other senior management

Present various analyses and reports for senior management, such as operating metrics and corporate financial results to support their business decision-making

Extensive experience with SEC public company reporting requirements under IFRS or US GAAP,

Strong financial systems experience, including advanced Excel skills

Eight (8) to Ten (10) years of progressive work experience in a reporting, accounting or auditing function

Experience within the insurance industry would be [preferred]/[an asset]

Experience with SEC and/or OSC public company reporting requirements for companies reporting under IFRS and/or US GAAP;

Strong financial systems experience, including advanced Excel skills

Three to five (3-5) years of progressive work experience in an accounting or auditing function

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Can work in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment, adapt quickly to manage changing priorities and deadlines

Prepare consolidated financial statements and public documents on a quarterly and annual basis, including the MD&A and other public materials

Present reinsurance financial results to management on a quarterly basis.

Finance or Accounting degree and a minimum of 4 or more years’ post-graduate experience.

Experience with and knowledge of Essbase is an asset.
