ITC Test Engineer - Railway Signaling Systems

In-depth firewall and Windows Securiity experience

Extensive server patching experience, including as escalation point

5+ years working in Virtualized Microsoft environment

High level of comfort with Dell technologies

Strong communication for client-facing scenarios

Openness to 5-10% travel in West GTA

Familiarity with orchestration/configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef

Experience using programming languages such as Python, GO, Ruby and/or BASH for automation of tasks.

Experience working with Linux/Unix command line and command line tools

Familiarity with Infrastructure As Code tools such as ARM Templates, Terraform, Cloud Formation and Google Cloud Deployment Manager

Proven experience as a Process Engineer in the railways or manufacturing industry.

Strong knowledge of product design, industrialization processes, and manufacturing techniques.

Participate in product design reviews as required during the specification and preliminary design phases.

Estimate Method Time for various manufacturing processes.

Contribute to Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (P-FMEA) during the detailed design phase and prior to Serial Go.

Initiate tooling requests and write tooling specifications as needed.

Experience in using DOORS, or similar Requirements Management and Model Based Systems Engineering tools.

Gather and analyze customers technical requirements.

Check compliance with standards and requirements

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the railway industry

Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices.

Knowledge of railway signaling (especially CBTC)

Minimum of three years of related experience in municipal engineering water or wastewater treatment construction inspection

Effective communicator possessing demonstrated skills in dealing with other staff, contractors, and the public, in matters arising from construction projects

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite

Site inspection on municipal construction projects for quality control and adherence with applicable provincial standards, engineering design and technical specifications

Provide problem resolution/field solutions with respect to unforeseen construction issues and identify and monitor deficiencies

Review and comment on construction progress payment certificates and quotations

You can demonstrate knowledge and experience in:

Creating automation to deploy operating systems via Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) to an enterprise environment (Expert).

Windows Administration and support of Windows Operating Systems (OS) issues, applications, compatibility issues, and debugging system crashes (Strong Knowledge).

Intune policies including device configuration, device compliance, application configuration, and application protection (Working Knowledge).

Windows security fundamentals (Working Knowledge).

Windows OS feature update cadence (Working Knowledge).

Perform troubleshooting, identification and resolution of system and subsystem issues and when required escalate issues to engineering and management

Experience and knowledge of implementation engineering processes covering testing and commissioning

Regularly report test and commissioning progress and status to the Commissioning Manager.

Manage the configuration of documentation, hardware and software in the field

Maintain and develop own professional competence and skills

Knowledge of Safety Critical and Safety Related activities in the Rail Transit System environment

Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems, with specific knowledge of Maximo a benefit

Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Project Management or related disciplines, or equivalent experience

Specific knowledge and experience at least one light rail-related discipline and demonstrated understanding of all other areas including:

Conduct all work in line with quality management expectations, as outlined in the relevant company directives and procedures;

Knowledge of inspections, preventive and reactive maintenance and quality assurance procedures

Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
