Quality Control Lab Technologist Jobs

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements

Working in compliance with the company’s Health & Safety Policies/SOPs including but not limited to the Safety Responsibilities Procedure.

One (1) year experience in similar role is an asset.

Conversant in GMP/GLP requirements is an asset.

Proficiency with application software (LIMS), Knowledge of Microsoft Office and efficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Good interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate clearly.

Excellent organizational, planning, problem solving, decision making and time management skills.

Completion of product set-up documentation in compliance with Guardian requirements (including SDS, labels).

Experience in sample analysis, procedure writing and problem solving.

Be fluent in oral and written English and have effective communication skills.

Team player with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Excellent computer skills that include the use of MS Office Suite of products.

Manage projects onsite throughout the duration and effectively interface and own the relationship with customers and their vendors.

Experience desired with the following:

Experience with IEDs: SEL 2032, SEL 421, 311A, 311B, 311C, 311L, 734, Bitronics, ION 7350, Qualitrol TTL 1000

Experience with test sets and software: Doble 6150, ASE 2000 Test Kit, Arbiter, Protest, RTS, Megger MPRT & EZ CT 2000

Experience with relays: SEL, GE, MICOM, AREVA, ALSTOM: Line Differential, generator protection, transformer protection

Perform function testing of substation control circuits on relay panel, transformers & circuit breaker change outs.

Demonstrated experience and knowledge in Hematology morphology

Flow cytometry/special stain experience and knowledge of bedside marrow preparation technique

Computer skills in Order Entry, Data Entry and Reporting

Excellent communication, organizational and problem- solving skills

Demonstrated commitment to maintaining and improving individual competence, as well as contributing to the education and development of students and co-workers

Current Registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO)

· Strong organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills

· Intermediate knowledge of HACCP and Quality Management programs

· Strong communication skills are a key requirement (verbal/ written)

· Minimum two (2) to three (3) years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment

· Advanced computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word , Excel, Access)

· Working knowledge of business software SAP is an asset

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the cultural/movable Heritage sector, preferably in a lab environment related to the position;

Experience with metalwork, plastic work, woodwork, large format graphics fabrication, making crates;

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff and learners;

Experience working with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and the MS Office Suite is an asset.

Ensuring efficient and effective laboratory services, communication and technical interpretation and opinion to stakeholders, health care professionals and patients/service users.

Experience working in the concrete or construction related industry is considered an asset

Strong product and production knowledge; have a basic understanding of the chemistry of concrete and its ingredients.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.

Implement the QC program (inspections, tests, completion of forms.)

Perform all types of concrete tests as required at plant & or in field.

Work closely with ready mix drivers to educate them on mixes, slumps, air contents.

Laboratory experience / working knowledge of lab processes is considered an asset

Deploying Personal Technical Skills/Expertise: involved as project team member

Miscellaneous additional tasks for that region as directed by the Analytical Manager

Working knowledge of various gas and liquid analysis systems (Gas Chromatography & Ion Chromatography) is a plus

Perform laboratory analyses in the regional office

Perform field test tasks including sample point preparation, sample collection, data collection and sample analysis (Gas Chromatography and Ion Chromatography)

Follow Company safety and quality requirements.

Evaluate mix design performance and consult QA/QC Manager for necessary adjustments.

Report any and all non-conformance issues to the QA/QC Manager and write necessary Non-Conformance Reports.

Civil Engineering/Construction Technology or Civil Engineering preferred; relevant work experience will also be considered

Excellent computer and math skills

CCIL or ACI certification preferred

Excellent organizational skills and time management

Journeyperson certification in an applicable trade is preferred. (ie. Welding, Heavy Equipment, Millwright)

Control & maintain all inventory used in the labs. Stocking consumables and preparing and stocking associated materials.

Processing (cutting & shearing), metal coupons for labs.

Perform maintenance & repairs to operational and non-operational equipment to OEM standards such as welding equipment, diesel engines, and transmissions

Prepare and maintain demonstration equipment for the instructors in the labs. Provide technical support to the sections

Have strong financial management skills with proven experience with forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis.

Knowledge of Clarity or project management tools.

Project management experience will be considered an asset.

Insure compliance with PPM (Planning & Portfolio Management) processes.

Act as the main point of contact with Procurement and Finances departments to guarantee alignment.

Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role in an IT environment.

Minimum 2 years’ experience within a Food Manufacturing or Quality Lab

Working knowledge of Food Quality and Safety Programs

Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Test to positively release manufactured products and create Certificates of Analysis (COA’s)

Conduct incoming sampling and testing of raw materials
