Role: Project Tracking / Operations Support Consultant

Manage the accounting and reporting functions of the Project including preparation of monthly financial reports and management / executive committee presentations.

Prepares monthly financial close and associated internal reports for management, executive committee and respective partner organizations.

Management and distribution of payments as set out in the joint-venture agreement.

Manage, record and report on financial assets and liabilities.

Identify a Project ERP System with the City of Calgary and manage its procurement, implementation and training.

Manage the Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable team and the logging and payment of invoices.

Reports To:Executive Director, IT Project Management

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or related business discipline(s).

Identify the risks involved in the project and manage them

Co-ordinate Operations and IT teams on project roles and responsibilities

Track changes to the project requirements

7-9 years’ work experience with IT. PMP certified.

Experience in project management techniques, including monitoring, reporting, budgeting, staff management, and stakeholder management as well as knowledge management.

Organizational and management skills required to coordinate and implement projects

Documents project progress by using project management software to establish, track and monitor project deliverables and timeframes.

Follows data management and project closing procedures for each project to enable clean archiving of project files.

Keeps knowledge and information flowing seamlessly throughout relevant stakeholders (IFCL internal Projects unit, projects team, consultants, clients, etc.)

Provides coordination and logistics support as needed at direction of Project Manager

Leading the planning and execution of finance-related projects related to system implementations, process improvements and change management

You have 5 - 7 years of experience as a Project Manager; PMP certification preferred

Establishing project briefs or statements of work in collaboration with project stakeholders and Program Management

Driving continuous improvement in project management processes and methodologies

You have excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to explain, articulate, and document concepts and requirements

You have excellent organization and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities

Project management & organizational skills

10+ years’ experience in financial sector

Business, Risk, Audit or Operations experience

Experience with SEC / FINRA / CFTC / US Treasury

Experience working directly with front office staff

Experience in regulatory projects applicable to Banks, Broker Dealers and FCMs

Assist project managers with the management of a variety of project tasks.

Post-Secondary education in a technical field or equivalent work experience.

Strong verbal & written communication skills, proactive communication with subtrades and project team

Minimum of 3-5 years project coordination experience.

Must have excellent verbal/written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.

Computer skills using Microsoft Office products (Office, Word, Excel, Project).

Experience with project cost management systems.

Profound working knowledge of general and cost accounting, internal controls and asset management in an operational environment

Knowledge of cost and schedule management.

Proven leadership aptitudes and skills, sense of organization with good priority management skills.

Provide reliable day-to-day accounting and finance services while complying with all legislative and corporate requirements.

Ensure that the change management process is maintained and integrated into VCR's policies, procedures, and contracts.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Math, Information Systems, Engineering or Business. MBA or other advanced business degree preferred.

Experience in leading and managing teams and/or organizations.

Negotiation experience with and comprehension of complex legal agreements and banking documents.

Advise on the bankability of project agreements and ways to minimize financing risk.
