A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or operations management is an asset

Implement and promote health and safety programs for all employees

Maintain maximum productivity and produce quality standards

Monitor and direct maintenance for maximum equipment efficiency.

Previous experience in a management/supervisory of a unionized environment role an asset

Strong time management and organization skills essential

Monitor compliance with commercial vehicle regulations and dotted line responsibilities to maintenance manager, if necessary

Ensure training requirements are up to date and offered as required to meet Lafarge standards

Knowledge of or experience with industrial and production-based facilities and logistics

Manages change through influence on front-line staff

Ensure adherence to Conuma’s environmental policy, work standards, management plans and regulatory obligations and requirements.

Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving abilities and interpersonal skills.

Implement daily, weekly, and monthly operational plans and objectives, in accordance with production plan requirements.

Stay abreast of all relevant legal and legislative requirements

Minimum of 5 years’ experience required in an open pit mining environment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Contributes to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy as a member of the management team.

· Time and people management.

· Interface with vessels regarding Marine Transportation Security and loading requirements.

· Power engineering and control room experience are also major assets.

· Minimum two years of supervisory experience with the ability to provide leadership and direction to others.

· Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to motivate, lead and build effective relationships.

Well established organizational and project management skills

Identifying competencies and establishing and developing training requirements for the operating crews

A minimum of five years progressive industrial experience

Strong and proven leadership, planning, budgeting and troubleshooting skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Outstanding team player and team building skills
