Familiarity with electronic medical records (preferred)

Excellent organizational skills, ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks

Minimum of three years secretarial experience required

Conference/large meeting planning experience an asset

Sound problem solving and decision making skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills; including formatting and proof reading of large documents

Grade XII plus a graduate of a recognized office administration program/business program/secretarial program required

Serve in a patient-facing clinical capacity as needed to ensure a superior patient experience.

Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and effective communication skills to build relationships throughout the organization.

1 year of experience preferred.

Current BLS certification for healthcare providers preferred; required within 90 days of employment.

Experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care or ER preferred.

Certification of Medical Assistance required

Immediately triage seriously ill patients and notifies nursing and/or provider staff.

Maintains a smooth flow of patients into exam rooms as a top priority.

Obtains accurate vital signs, as indicated:

Obtains accurate and appropriate medical history for medical patient’s chart.

Accurately updates all flow charts, including medication flow chart, per visit.

Provincial Certification with Department of Health and Wellness

Candidates are required to submit their certification and be registered and active with the CCA Registry.

Current Basic Life Support Certification

Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing

Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Permanent, Full-Time position(s); 75 hours bi-weekly

Record and document management and all administrative duties, as assigned.

1-2 years of post-secondary education in a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Appropriate application of scripts, scenarios and clinical skills.

Six months to one year of experience in a customer service environment (i.e. retail or hospitality).

Excellent communication skills in English (spoken, written, reading and comprehension); other languages are considered an asset.

Base rate $15.50 per hour, with additional earning potential.

Previous Personal Support Worker or Medical Laboratory experience is considered an asset.

Previous experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) or Nurse is considered an asset.

Proficiency in measuring vitals signs and/or experience with medications review is considered an asset.

Relevant experience working in a medical office environment.

Proficient knowledge of Electronic Medical Records system (knowledge of Accuro is considered an asset).

Sound knowledge of medical terminology.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

2+ years experience in working in clinical settings OR fast-paced customer service environments

A keen ability to multitask

An ability to quickly learn new software systems

Highly proficient in Microsoft Office
