Overview Law Librarian I is a professional position responsible for providing library services related to legal research and reference. The Law Librarian I is responsible for providing library services to patrons, including legal research and reference services, as well as maintaining library collections and resources. Detailed Job Description The Law Librarian I is responsible for providing library services related to legal research and reference. This includes providing library services to patrons, including legal research and reference services, as well as maintaining library collections and resources. The Law Librarian I is also responsible for providing library instruction to patrons, as well as developing and maintaining library collections and resources. The Law Librarian I is also responsible for providing library services to faculty, staff, and students, as well as providing library services to the public. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of library science principles, practices, and procedures
• Knowledge of legal research and reference
• Knowledge of library cataloging and classification systems
• Knowledge of library databases and online resources
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
• Ability to use library software and technology
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or related field
• At least one year of experience in a library setting
• Knowledge of library science principles, practices, and procedures
• Knowledge of legal research and reference
• Knowledge of library cataloging and classification systems
• Knowledge of library databases and online resources
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
