Junior Reinsurance Technical Analyst Jobs

Experience in interacting with business partners at the line level and management position.

Perform reinsurance pricing analyses based on experience and exposure

Develop an understanding of the cost and benefit of reinsurance to client income statements

Strong experience with Microsoft Excel (VBA), Access (SQL), Word, and PowerPoint

Working knowledge of R and/or Python an asset

0-3 years of actuarial experience, P&C experience an asset

3+ years of experience in an accounting or similar role in Casualty Insurance; Reinsurance experience an asset

Experience working with automated accounting and reporting systems

Proven superior communication, presentation, and customer service skills

Strong business and interpersonal communication skills (written and oral)

Contacts claims and underwriting staff on all issues requiring their intervention; i.e., coding errors and escalates to senior management, as applicable

Provides oversight & management of the global treaty register

1 - 2 years of related work experience preferred, ideally with exposure to reinsurance concepts

Broad knowledge of reinsurance concepts, products and processes is an asset

Perform Single Risk Administration (Cession Management) for a portfolio of clients

Strong Excel skills. (SQL & Power BI an asset)

Long term contract (2 years)

Hybrid role (1-2 days in office)

Good working knowledge in third party vendor management

A minimum one (1) years of work experience

Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio)

Excellent communication skills for professional environment, written and spoken

Bachelor’s degree, technical diploma, or certificate in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent

You will be required to provide your own laptop, basic software tools, and cell phone.

Experience with SEC and/or OSC public company reporting requirements for companies reporting under IFRS and/or US GAAP;

Strong financial systems experience, including advanced Excel skills

Three to five (3-5) years of progressive work experience in an accounting or auditing function

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Can work in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment, adapt quickly to manage changing priorities and deadlines

Prepare consolidated financial statements and public documents on a quarterly and annual basis, including the MD&A and other public materials
