Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, Computer Science or related quantitative discipline (e.g., Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics)

Experience/interest in performance reporting and analysis.

Experience/interest in risk reporting and analysis

Pursuing/interest in Chartered Financial Analyst or other finance/risk training or designation.

Knowledge of SQL and at least one programming language (Python, R, Matlab, C, C#, Java, etc).

A self-starter who works well independently and under pressure with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Assist with workstreams relating to CPP Investments’ legal entity management system functionalities

Minimum 5-7 years of related work experience (e.g. finance, consulting, private equity, accounting firm etc.)

Assist in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to define roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders throughout the investment lifecycle

Support the Manager in the pre-close/structuring and ongoing maintenance of new investments, exits and restructurings, which includes:

Post-secondary education in Business or related field

Liaise with sell-side contacts and engage with companies and senior management teams to gather insights

Work closely with the Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Managers to deliver meaningful insights and expertise on dividend-paying equities

Exceptional analytical, writing, oral communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

Supports change management of varying scope and type; tasks typically focused on execution and sustainment activities.

Candidates’ level will be assessed through standard assessments, those with less experience will be considered for an Analyst position

Solid financial modelling (LBO/DCF) and valuation skills

Very strong analytical and quantitative skills and ability to perform in-depth, creative, critical analysis

Experience in the investment process, including conducting due diligence, arranging debt financing and, preparing CIMs or investment memorandums, negotiating documentation, etc.

Ability to develop a good knowledge of the economic/business characteristics, conditions and trends of a broad range of industries

Min. 3+ years related work experience in asset management, equity research, investment banking or similar roles at leading firms

Actively participate in meetings with healthcare company management teams and outside experts

Analyze and evaluate potential investment opportunities within healthcare (including therapeutics, life sciences tools, medtech and managed care)

Very strong analytical and quantitative skills and proven understanding of fundamental investment analysis

Special emphasis on accounting, valuation and financial modelling skills

Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
