1-3 years’ experience in completing Municipal, Provincial and Transit Environmental Assessments in Ontario.

Provide all cost engineering expertise and coordinate activities as a group/unit.

Review internal and external environmental assessments for content, coordination requirements, and impacts to Metrolinx programs/projects, and monitor environmental sustainability developments.

Ensure environmental assessment commitments and conditions are achieved, and reporting requirements documented for submission, to achieve project compliance.

Develop, conduct and recommend mitigation standards and procedures requirements for new technology in Environmental Assessments and in capital works projects.

Knowledge of project, standards, specifications, and applicable environmental legislation.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to work independently, strong interpersonal and negotiating skills and analytical ability are a must.

Must successfully complete environmental, safety and any other training and certification required by corporate policy.

The position duties will entail but not be limited to:

·Phase I Site Assessment desktop review and reporting

•Completing file set-up for environmental projects.

•Oil and Gas Well file reviews.

Experience and knowledge of pulp and paper mill processes, wastewater treatment is a definite asset.

Compile and interpret historical records, past reports and analytical data to determine strategy for site closure.

Conduct studies for remedial options, treatment system upgrades, stormwater infrastructure, landfill closure techniques, air contaminant sources, etc.

Maintain an up to date knowledge of existing and emerging regulatory requirements, wildlife and vegetation assessment methodologies, and best practices;

Knowledge of or experience with technical modeling (e.g., air quality) an asset.

Knowledge of or experience with environmental assessment processes (e.g., Municipal Class EA) an asset.

Coordinate, manage and build business relationships with clients, regulators, service providers (e.g., laboratories, sub-contractor) and third-party stakeholders.

At least 5 years of relevant experience.

Solid understanding of provincial and federal environmental regulatory requirements.

Experience in solid waste management, environmental site assessment and remediation and/or environmental impact assessment would be an asset.

One to two years experience in environmental consulting will be an asset; however, new graduates will also be considered.

Demonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary teamwork.

Knowledge of relevant municipal, provincial, and federal environmental legislation and policies.

Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication, and organizational skills

Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Must be able to manage and prioritize tasks based on project requirements.

Professional certification (AScTT/ AScT) is an asset.

No experience is necessary. Training will be provided to the selected candidates.

Excellent organizational skills, verbal communication, technical writing and data analysis skills required.

Drafting experience with AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu.

Experience in environmental sampling and site assessments.
