Intermediate Controls Engineer Jobs in Ontario

Must have strong planning, organizational and time management skills.

Ensure work is in compliance with TechnipFMC Group Standards and Guidelines, relevant approved procedures, client requirements, government regulations and industry standards.

Assist with work scopes and packages both technically and commercially ensuring they meet project contractual requirements, including subcontractor interfacing.

2-5 years of Project Engineering experience is required.

Must have strong communications skills.

Successful candidate will require the following skills/experience:

Develop and document new PLC control systems from concept to qualification

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics & Automation, or equivalent work experience

Intermediate knowledge in robot programming (Fanuc)

Intermediate knowledge of PLC programming (Allen Bradley)

Experience with Allen Bradley Factory Talk

Perform quality assurance (QA) checks on engineering packages done by others;

Approve, Stamp and Sign the associated PC&T designs.

Provide support for the preparation of estimates and proposals for the PCM&T component of bids prepared by High Voltage department;

Make recommendations for the purchasing of major equipment and fixed assets for the discipline;

Maintain courteous and professional relations between the PCM&T staff and other business units;

Effective customer support and problem resolution with respect to the associated project, product, process, and quality system;

Create supporting calculations ensuring that designs meet specification requirements including functional, safety, legal compliance, and manufacturing capabilities.

Demonstrated knowledge of general electrical skills.

Prepare software requirement documents as required.

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Controls Engineer in a mobile/heavy equipment (or related) manufacturing environment.

Design experience with SolidWorks (with formal training preferred); experience with AutoCad desirable.

Exceptional problem solving, critical thinking skills and must be capable of thinking outside of the box.

Electrical Engineering experience in the field of automation/industrial machinery. High Speed Packaging Machinery experience is an asset.

BSc. or similar Technical Education in the field of Electrical Engineering

Working knowledge of current safety standards, including Control Reliable design & PSR Legislation in Ontario.

5 – 8 years’ experience in the field of electrical automation/industrial machinery. Experience in Packaging Machinery is an asset.

Preparing machines for the debugging phase and FAT phase

Power the machines up after wiring

Interface and manage installation contractors during construction

Visual Basic, SQL, MS ACCESS Database programming skills a plus

Database programming skills a plus

3-6+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing setting

Design and troubleshoot both software and hardware necessary for control systems utilizing PLCs for integration of manufacturing systems.

Design, diagnose, and troubleshoot network infrastructures - Ethernet, DeviceNet, AS-i, Profibus etc.

Project management within individual environment

5+ years of experience in electrical controls (designing, troubleshooting, etc.).

5+ years of experience in Siemens and/or Allen Bradley

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferred) OR equivalent years of experience without degree (10+years)

Design, engineer, and procure assembly equipment for future programs

Help maintain and re-engineer current assembly equipment

Commercial/project budgetary management (supported by extended Project Sponsor/Project Assurance team)

Client/stakeholder management and business development including contribution to strategic growth/recruiting

Certification as a P.Eng. (PEO)

Minimum 7 years of experience in Road/Transportation design (serving as Lead or PM)

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with clients and staff in a team environment

Excellent oral and written English communication skills
