Inbound Transportation Planner Jobs

Coordinate, assign and review the work of consultants and associated deliverables as required in a project management capacity.

Execute project and budget management.

Formal Education, Training and Occupational Certification

Coordinate transportation planning processes, develop strategy documents, and manage delivery of projects for assigned areas of Transportation.

Work is generated by Council priorities, department work plan(s), community issues or operational requirements and is assigned and discussed with supervisor.

Post- secondary education, college or university with a focus on Supply Chain or Purchasing Management

Strong knowledge of Logistics Systems and Supply Chain Management, and have a deep understanding of purchasing, planning and inventory control

Experience in supplier management and inventory planning

Previous experience utilizing an ERP system and business management tools

Manage and maintain excellent relationships with the suppliers in your portfolio

Design and implement inventory reduction initiatives such as vendor managed inventory

Providing vacation coverage for Area Managers

Referring all job injuries immediately to area manager

1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience

Support and work in the department as required

Providing policy follow-up, attendance tracking (duties do not extend to discipline)

Tracking and reporting of ATS/labor hours

Pallet jack and Forklift experience an asset

Teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision

7 or more years of related public transit/transportation experience in the work environment

Experience in leading transportation/transit plans for public transportation and transit agencies

Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills

Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of existing and emerging regulatory requirements, wildlife and vegetation assessment methodologies, and best practices.

An ability to be flexible, learn and perform challenging tasks outside their area of skills and experience.

At least 5 years of relevant experience.

Experience in environmental assessments and the application of policies, protocols and environmental legislation.

Experience in MTO Class EA process would be an asset.

Environmental and social impact assessment process experience.

Must have a four (4) year University Degree in Civil Engineering, or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalencies.

Must have over one (1) year of experience in either a Civil Engineering or Transportation Planning environment.

Must have knowledge of the Planning Act and related legislation and provincial policies.

Must have excellent writing skills and the ability to make oral presentations.

Hybrid role with 80% remote and up to 20% working onsite at DCs/HQ

Minimum 7-10 years of experience in Supply Chain with focus on inbound and import transportation or procurement

• Create daily Outbound and Customer Pickup (CPU) schedules using Transportation Management Software (TMS).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• 2 - 5 years on-the-job experience in a 3PL or dispatch setting

• Knowledge of Customs documentation and USMCA regulations.

• Proficient experience in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ERP and TMS

• Demonstrates organizational, multi-tasking, and analytical skills
