Geotechnical Engineer Project Manager Jobs in Manitoba

Assess geotechnical risks, develop mitigation plans and communicate accurate and timely information to mine operations, mine planners and management team.

Implement management tools for the geotechnical process workflow.

Contribute to the development and updating of the Ground Control Management Plan.

Contribute towards budget preparation activities for the geotechnical team which include ground management review of proposed business plan.

Preferred knowledge of Mine design software such as Deswik, Dips, RocLab/RocData, Unwedge, Phase2, GEM4D, Map3D programs

Previous undergraduate experience in hardrock underground metalliferous mining environment.

Management of a variety of geotechnical engineering projects;

10+ years of related work experience;

Strong written and verbal communication skills;

Strong technical report writing skills;

Strong skills in MS Office software, including Word and Excel, and other programs including AutoCAD and Geo-Slope;

Coordination of fieldwork associated with a wide range of investigations, including drilling and test pitting;

Ensure all geotechnical designs are in accordance with the Ferrovial Group’s standards and Contract requirements.

Lead the efforts for creating analytical two and three-dimensional models under direction from the Geotechnical and Underworks Design Manager.

Assertive, with strong analytical and communication skills

Responsible for all technical work pertaining to solving geotechnical design problems and review of design calculations

Prepare routine geotechnical study proposals and reports, including proposal for new investigations (borings, geophysical, etc)

Analyze ground movements predictions, construction impact assessment reports, and the strategies for mitigation of risk.
