Fire Protection System Consultant Jobs

Provide status reports on project work on a weekly basis to project managers.

Prior experience with computer aided dispatch and/or public safety answer point (PSAP) operations preferred.

Excellent spoken and written communication skills.

Conduct in-person workshops covering a wide range of public safety operational and technical topics.

Software testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.

Provide in-depth consulting with customers on their desired outcomes and translating those outcomes into software configuration.

Utilize strong SQL skills to manage and manipulate data for various projects.

Manage and prioritize tasks within a queue system, ensuring timely completion of projects and tasks.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience.)

Minimum 5 years of experience in a support role.

Demonstrated experience in data migration projects, ensuring accuracy and integrity of transferred data.

Experience with ticketing systems and managing tasks in a queue-based environment.

In-depth knowledge of major applicable standards including NBC, NFPA Standards, and FM Global requirements

Manage fire protection engineering for a variety of projects

Minimum of three years of relevant work experience

Implement a central depository for fire system designs and annual fire suppression testing reports

Air travel within Canada and US, occasional local travel driving company vehicle or rental vehicle. May require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Overnight business or field trips may be required

Perform field verification to ensure closure of moderate & major incidents, insurance survey, 2nd party audits, and special fire protection surveys

Provide daily advice and consultation to proponent on fire protection and safety engineering matters

Support fire protection department in witnessing and analyzing the testing and commissioning of fire protection systems

Support, assist and collaborate with management, colleagues and partners in the development, support and enhancement of risk and insurance services.

Fully effective interpersonal, writing and other communication skills required to develop and maintain relationships with peers, customers and industry contacts.

10+ years experience conducting property and casualty surveys of SME and Middlemarket risks.

Experience with contractors and builder’s risk.

- Experience with symmetric and asymmetric encryption, certificate and key management, masking, and tokenization

- Experience with creating remediation plans for unstructured data, structured data, and data within a cloud environment

- Experience with using MIP (Microsoft Information Protection), and BigID

- Experience with Veronis, the primary tool the team currently uses to do data discovery and classification

- Experience with TDE (transport data encryption)

- Experience with Microsoft Purview

BS/MS in Management Information Systems, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or Related Field of Study

Customer-facing ability to design business & system processes with warehouse planners, industrial engineers and WMS/WES product managers

Functional ability to translate business requirements to functional specifications and effectively guide software developers on design and validation/testing

Technical configuration experience with WES, WMS, and WCS integrated with a wide variety of automation equipment and external applications

Programming skill is a plus but not required

Integration with automated MHE such as AS/RS, conveyors/sorters, AMR

-Assisting with troubleshooting and repairs of fire alarm, E-lights, Extinguishers, and suppression panels

-Assisting with testing of fire alarm systems as per ULC S536/537

-Inspection of fire extinguishers and hoses

-assisting with writing inspection and verification reports

Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, consulting experience preferred; however design experience in a Contractor environment may be considered.

Experience in fire protection system design, fire alarm system design, or related systems design.

Design fire protection systems including suppression and detection and other related systems;

Assess fire and life safety performance of new and existing building fire protection systems using applicable Codes and Standards;

Draft fire protection systems and details using AutoCAD or, alternatively, mark up design concepts using Bluebeam Revu;

Complete design calculations including using hydraulic calculation software;
