EDUC 535 - Specialization II (On Campus)

Significant teaching experience as well as a demonstrated ability to deliver this core music composition curriculum at the post-secondary level.

September 5 – December 6

Note: This year the course will focus upon chamber music composition.

Earned doctorate in music composition.

A record of creative achievement including commissions and major performances; and

Graduate degree or equivalent experience in jazz ensembles, jazz pedagogy, including free improvisation;

Experience teaching undergraduate courses at a university level

Supervision of graduate teaching assistants required

PhD or MFA in a relevant discipline

Evidence of current expertise in the course subject matter

Previous post-secondary teaching experience is a requirement

Experience in programs such as Zoom, D2L and other digital education products would be an asset

MBA degree or equivalent and work experience in the field are desirable

Preference will be given to applicants who have experience providing instruction face-to-face and online in a post-secondary setting

Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students in an engineering program will be viewed as an asset.

Prior study in gross anatomy related to musculoskeletal anatomy is required, including laboratory experience with cadaver specimens.

UCAs are also responsible for laboratory set-up and clean-up.

Experience teaching K-12 ELA and/or Math in a U.S or Canadian classroom

Experience teaching in an online environment

Working knowledge of Google Classroom and Zoom

Experience with remediation, intervention or small group instruction

SPED or ELL teaching experience

Experience teaching Spanish Language Arts
