Assist clients with managing labour relations issues, including certification applications, unfair labour practices, collective agreement negotiations, and resolution of grievances.

Manage wrongful dismissal actions through all stages of litigation

8+ years’ experience as an Employment Lawyer in private practice or in-house

Experience dealing with employment law issues across Canada

Knowledge of Immigration Law is an asset

Draft employment and secondment contracts, termination letters, employment policies & procedures and other employment related documents.

Have experience managing client relationships.

$105,000 to $125,000 annual base salary which will vary based on year of call, experience, and personal targets.

Work-from-home stipend if working primarily remotely.

Be a 3-5 year call.

Be comfortable with technology as we operate a primarily digital office.

Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary in the performance of the position, and as assigned by the Council Secretariat

Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with WFN policies, standards and procedures, and as directed by the Council Secretariat

Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a legal, local government/public administration and corporate setting

Extensive knowledge of federal laws and regulations

High-level awareness and knowledge of Indigenous/corporate law, structures of various levels of government and First Nation Self-governance

Support the full scope of legal work, including interpretation, amendment and implementation of employment law, policies and procedures.
