Define and manage growth and QC of the reduction strategy database

5 years minimum experience in Organizational Corporate greenhouse gas emissions.

Technical degree or engineering experience with demonstrated ability to build user-friendly templates, calculators, and presentations for non-technical audiences

Experience with corporate greenhouse gas inventories as a consultant or in-house. Scope 3 accounting categories and/or quantifying for a multi-national asset.

Javascript (jquery, d3 bonus points for mapbox and ArcGIS API for Javascript)

Permanent full time!This role will be full time with 37.5 work hours per week.

Manage emissions reduction projects including scoping, cost estimates, economics, AFE preparation, and presentation.

Forecast, analyze, and report current and future emissions projects, and manage potential changes to budget planning as required.

Identify carbon offset opportunities, credit generation, and inventory including but not limited to coordinating measurement, verification, quantification, and certification.

Proactively manage deliverables from service providers.

Knowledge of Alberta regulations is required, exposure to Saskatchewan regulations is an asset.

10 years of similar experience working in the energy industry required.

Displays comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and methodologies and experience with capital and operational projects.

Proficiency with computer applications including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and applicable project management databases.

Displays comprehensive knowledge of building mechanical, electrical and building automation systems, including innovative technologies.

Utilizes initiative, vision, independent thinking and creative problem-solving abilities to implement project plans and realize project completion.

Utilizes effective facilitation, persuasion and negotiation abilities to achieve consensus, resolve conflict and achieve desired outcomes.

Demonstrates excellent communication skills with all stakeholders, and ability to work efficiently independently and as a member as a team.

Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.

Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.

Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.

Knowledge and experience with LDAR related hardware and tools is considered asset

Knowledge of wholesale and retail credit risk rating systems with experience in parameter estimation, portfolio management, or risk appetite.

Experience developing presentations, visualizations and dashboards for senior executives and an interest in developing advanced analytical capabilities

Researching technical methodologies for calculating E&S Risk metrics and targets – e.g. financed emissions, net-zero targets

Knowledge or familiarity with the climate risk and/or target setting guidance issued by PCAF, NZBA, TCFD, ISSB, and/or OSFI (B-15)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Using Python and SQL to calculate E&S Risk metrics

Provide education on the latest regulation changes to all sales groups affected, including providing sales-level emissions regulatory overview for relevant groups.

Manage Finning’s obligations under both the IRB and ITB programs.

Work with Finance, Procurement or other Finning departments to track progress on obligations.

Prepare and sign-off on Finning’s annual reports for each affected federal project (alongside VP of Finance, as necessary)

Excellent communication skills with the ability to network.

Strong mining, power systems or construction industry knowledge is an asset
