Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a manager capacity preferred

Experience assisting in implementing continuous improvement programs, with knowledge of working in a LEAN environment is an asset

Demonstrated knowledge and user experience with Excel, Access, E-Mail, and Word Documents

3+ years Inventory Management Software experience

Demonstrated success in leadership, prioritizing and time-management

Manage and monitor all activities of Inventory control and maintenance

Reports to the Operations Manager and provides regular location updates.

Acquires and maintains information on distribution industry changes to remain knowledgeable of the most current distribution methods available.

Serve as a liaison between arriving guests and warehouse staff; greeting, screening and confirming appointments when applicable

Monitor building/fire alarms to ensure proper response and/or dispatching

Answer incoming calls to the building and transfer calls to appropriate extensions

Operate electronic walk-through metal detectors and hand-held metal detectors, as needed

Work with an order management system to correctly pick customer orders;

Attentive to details with strong organizational skills;

Day shift (Monday through Friday) 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Inventory receiving, sorting and counting in preparation of “Put Away” task;

Inventory spot checks and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy;

Organize distribution and packing of merchandise for online orders;

Preference will be given to candidates with project management experience; ideally site start-up experience.

Strong analytical skills, experience with WMS and Excel.

Must have experience overseeing a complex distribution operation, preference for big, bulky merchandise (furniture, appliances, etc)

Bachelor's degree in administration, supply chain management, operations management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;

Assistant Distribution Center (DC) Manager

Utilize existing Labour Management Systems (LMS) and other industry best practice to drive continuous improvement in productivity.

Develop and implement tools for standardized management of equipment and facility conditions and cost across the distribution centers.
