Looking for a hands-on leadership role in distribution center operations? Look no further! We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Supervisor, Distribution Centre to join our team in Richmond. Assisting the Manager, DC Richmond, you would act as the gatekeeper of health and safety processes and ensure adherence to protocols and champion productivity through operational execution on the floor per level (Planning/receiving/picking/staging/shipping etc). You'd also be accountable for timely and accurate completion of daily plans, making this a truly impactful role. Join us and take your career to the next level!


Responsibilities


  • Champion the application and follow-up of LCD way of life on the floor (ensures learned concepts are applied to day-to-day activities)
  • Maintain DC reports and analysis to support KPIs and other metrics.
  • Support change management and optimization efforts with technology, automation, physical infrastructure and make recommendations.
  • Ensure all DC team and visitors adhere, in practice, to health and safety protocols.
  • Promote understanding of, and adhesion to CI approach in day-to-day operations on the floor.
  • Lead the daily operational plan (on the floor) and ensure it is followed and employees are dispatched accordingly and provide timely updates.
  • Manage time attendance (vacation, approval of timecards)
  • Coach all employees and foster positive team building and working relationships.
  • Help ensure inventory and asset integrity and own accurate cycle counts of inventories.
  • Responsible for overseeing all inbound and outbound activities (preparing/allocating waves, overseeing appointment process, booking incoming containers, etc.)
  • Responsible for ensuring all Distribution Centre materials and supplies are always on hand and complete reorders on a timely basis.


What we look for:


  • Knowledge of computers to operate effectively with MS Excel.
  • People-centric leadership skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Desire to learn and continue to acquire knowledge.
  • Exposure to structured on-the-job trainings.
  • Strong team building and relationship management skills.
  • 1–2-years of experience in a Distribution Centre environment as a supervisor or 3-5 years as a lead hand.
  • Secondary education (Logistics, SCM or equivalent experience)
  • WMS experience – Blue Yonder is an asset.
  • Experience working with metrics i.e. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Post-secondary is an asset.
