Applies National Rehabilitation Reporting System (NRS) coding standards to Inpatient admissions and discharges according to CIHI reporting requirements

1 year previous experience in inpatient NRS coding

An in-depth knowledge and understanding of RCG, RPG and expected length of stay

BS in related field (Mech Eng, Aerospace, Comp Science, Robotics, Mechatronics) with 1+ years of professional experience is acceptable

Experience with formal logic (e.g. temporal logic)

Exposure to safety certification standards and processes

Contribute to the development, integration, and deployment of algorithms that enable AVs to navigate complex on-road environments

Develop the Engine that reasons over discrete actions and interactions with other actors, based on multi-hypothesis predictions

Collaborate with the Routing team to incorporate longer-term and higher-level mission objectives

Certification with the Canadian Health Information Management Associate (CHIMA).

Graduate from a recognized Health Information Management/Professional program.

2 year previous experience in inpatient DAD coding

An in-depth knowledge and understanding of CMG's, HIG’s, ACW's, Case Mix Index (CMI) and expected length of stay

Demonstrated excellent organizational and communication skills.

Assigns ICD-10-CA/CCI codes related to Acute Care Discharges (DAD)

Advanced problem-solving and project management skills.

Advanced knowledge of, or extensive experience with business intelligence tools (mainly Microsoft Power BI), SQL, Python.

Mentor more junior staff, provide education opportunities for all staff in how to use Decision Support data and tools when necessary.

Minimum 3 years of experience in a professional setting; Experience in a health care setting is preferred.

Knowledge of Ontario’s health care system, the roles of different organizations at different levels of the system.

Knowledge of key administrative data including DAD, NACRS, OMHRS, CCRS and NRS and associated case mix methodologies

Canadian Health Information Management Certification (CHIMA)

Knowledge and skills in report writing (e.g. SQL, SSRS, PowerBI, Crystal Reports)

Extract and analyze clinical and operational data from various hospital databases to fulfill reporting requirements, monitor performance and support organizational goals.

Commit to and actively work to apply knowledge of latest coding languages, database software, system, standards etc.

Undertaking a post-secondary education in Computer Science or a relevant discipline

Working knowledge in software and database development.

Microsoft Office skills (MS Access, MS Excel) with exposure to process diagram software (ie: MS Visio).

Working knowledge in Big Data and Data Science related technologies an asset.

Strong programming and data management skills, including but not limited to proficiency in a statistical or programming tool (e.g., R, Python)

Completion of a recognized university degree in Medical Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Epidemiology, Statistics, or Business; equivalent combination of education and experience;

A Master’s degree in Medical Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Epidemiology, Business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;

Knowledge of health care reporting requirements (e.g. OHRS and MIS guidelines)
