Cardiology Technologist Jobs

Two (2) years’ experience in performing of ECG and Holter monitoring within the last five (5) years

Grade 12 education (MB Standards)

Demonstrated written and oral communication skills

Strong organizational, decision making and problem solving skills

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Training – as delineated in Prairie Mountain

Health Policy PPG-00002 CPR Training with a BCLS Instructor Certificate

Compiles information required for reports on patient visits, forwarding completed information to the Finance Department.

Verbally transmits test results to physician's offices, other hospitals and nursing units, as required.

Performs clerical duties such as typing, forwarding medical reports for transcription and ensuring department copies are filed and/or reports are distributed.

Monitors stationary and supply levels, preparing stores requisitions or stationary order requests, as required.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Ability to keyboard at 45 w.p.m.

Transfers and assigns ECGs in ECG Cardiology Management systems (i.e. Tracemaster) for interpretation by medical staff.

Participates in Quality Management and/or Quality Assurance programs (including LEAN projects/initiatives) by providing information and input to Manager (or designate)

Maintains and updates own clinical knowledge within area of practice.

Minimum of one year clerical experience required

Recent medical secretarial experience in an academic setting is an asset

Experience with research funding applications an asset

Experience with manuscript typing an asset

Previous experience working in a Local Area Network (LAN) environment an asset

Working knowledge of electronic file management and Microsoft Outlook.

Use market and product knowledge to assist sales team in developing sales, marketing and customer service strategies.

Improve customer satisfaction and socket retention through continuing education on optimization of equipment utilization by customer.

Minimum of five years of imaging experience in a diagnostic clinical setting, preferably a hospital environment.

Experience in both General and Cardiac Ultrasound Imaging.

Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.

Previous experience in ECG’s, cardiac stress testing and Holter monitoring is preferred

Previous experience in cardiac rehabilitation will be an asset

Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are essential

Currently registered with a recognized credentialing organization (CSCT or OSCT) or working towards it (recent graduates only)

Registration must be in good standing with the organization on an annual basis

BSc. in Kinesiology or related field an asset

Performs Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, holter and/or event monitor testing and Ambulatory Blood Pressure (ABP) testing.

Explains procedures and answers patient questions in preparation for testing.

Under supervision, may assist with Pacemaker interrogation, monitoring and documentation.

Enters patient test information as per department protocols, into Meditech to provide Electronic Health Records database for client/patient files.

Maintains appropriate files and reports according to established department procedures/policies.

Demonstrates ECG testing procedures and operation of related equipment to students and new staff.

Communicates with patients, families, referring and family physicians concerning patient management plans.

Manages the day-to-day care of patients, including writing medical orders on charts and responding to emergencies, in consultation with attending staff.

Attends educational sessions and rounds as time permits.

Interacts with and orientates clinical clerks and PGY1’s, new to the Cardiology Service.

Participates in on-call responsibilities of the service.
