They ensure that all building systems are functioning properly, and that all safety and health regulations are being followed. They also manage the maintenance staff, and coordinate with other departments to ensure that all building maintenance needs are met. Building Maintenance Managers must be knowledgeable in a variety of areas, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting. They must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose problems, and be able to make repairs or coordinate with outside contractors. They must also be able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Building Maintenance Managers must be able to manage budgets and keep accurate records of all maintenance activities. They must also be able to develop and implement preventive maintenance plans. Job Skills Required
• Knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems
