Accounting And Finance Director Jobs in Ontario

Strong knowledge of capital markets, borrowing/debt facilities, investments, foreign exchange, treasury operations, risk management and corporate finance initiatives

Oversee cash management and forecasting, working capital management, investment management and treasury risk management

Post-secondary education in finance and/or accounting

Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in a treasury or finance related role including 5 years’ experience in a leadership role

Good understanding of systems analysis/process improvement and project management methodologies and change management

Business case analysis – cost/benefit

Collaborate with executive management in forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning to drive profitability and efficient resource allocation.

Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable insights to senior management.

Implement appropriate risk management strategies to safeguard the company's financial assets.

In-depth knowledge of manufacturing accounting principles, cost accounting, and supply chain finance.

Familiarity with ERP systems and financial software for efficient data management and reporting.

Responsible for financial management and human resources support including oversight to payroll and benefit submissions, contract and annual cost analysis.

Academic, Training, Knowledge & Experience

Attends and is a resource for the Audit and Finance Committee of the Board

Reviews and approves mandatory employment and tax related filing and payments, ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements

Champions knowledge and compliance with accounting and healthcare reporting standards

Leadership and past people management skills

Manage the overall requirements for revenue processing

Manage cash application, credit payments & recording

Manage the A/P function, including Vendor Relations, A/P disbursements, and handling all cheque disbursements

Implement policies and procedures for finance area

CPA designation and a minimum 5+ years of progressively responsible related experience

Direct and manage the finance & accounting team, provide leadership, technical guidance, workflow distribution and professional development opportunities

3+ years accounting & finance supervisory experience, ideally in the insurance industry

7+ years progressive accounting/finance experience

Provide strategic analysis, interpreting results to drive improved decision making insights and capabilities

Manage internal controls in an IFRS17 environment, deliver timely tax filings and ensure FSRA compliance

University degree in Accounting, Finance or Business

Manage banking relationships and assist with wire transfers and cash management

Prepare financial statements with notes in accordance with accounting standards on a monthly/quarterly/semi-annual/annual basis as per company requirements.

Manage and prepare all lender reporting along with internal debt schedules

Additional duties and responsibilities as required

Minimum 6 years of experience

Strong computer skills, specifically in Excel with strong proficiency developing pro-formas and financial modeling

Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills to discuss and resolvehighly significant and time sensitive financial issues.

Maintains strong knowledge of HCCSS legislative framework including Acts and Directives and ensures compliance with all financial requirements.
