Web Tester

Apex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our staffing practice has an opening for a Web Tester with strong Automation testing (jest, protractor) experience, selenium, protractor, or equivalent experience and C#, Python, React or equivalent experience to place at our client, a multinational technology corporation .

Client: Multinational technology corporation

Terms: 12-month contract. Possibility of extension.

Location: 100% Remote (must be willing and able to work Pacific Time)

The main function of a web tester is to develop, implement, and document all testing activities, including test planning, test documentation, test execution, defect tracking and reporting, including follow-up and issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Use of test management & other components of tools like Azure Devops, Jira as applicable
• Analyze requirements (stories) along with the dev implementation & identify test scenarios
• Execute the tests in multiple mobile devices as per the plan
• Support lead/architect to extend automation framework
• Log and track defects, support triage
• Exploratory, negative testing
• Identify/create test data
• Test case documentation and manual execution of test cases
• Automate test scripts based on scenarios identified
• 60% automation and 40% manual to start with.
• Devise test approach/strategy for Mobile application
• API testing (manual and automated as applicable)
• Execute automation scripts
• Following bug life cycle
• Write automation scripts using framework/tools like Protractor
• Capture test preparation and execution data as needed

Requirements:

• Experience in manual testing.
• Should possess great analytical skills to drive end to end automation efforts and bring expected ROI
• 4-5 years of automation test experience Proficient in C#
• Experienced in working with test automation of Web, Mobile, API and Desktop applications.
• Backend APIs test automation and building monitors
• Contribution to design and implementation of framework(s)
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming, design and debugging skills.
• Experience on product testing in Agile environment; should know the various stages of product release & QA support needed
• Proficiency in writing and reviewing test strategy/plan.
• Good communication skills and attitude
• 7-9 years of total experience in software testing
• Experience writing test documentation such as Test Plans, scripts and test results reports
• Experience in using UI/API test automation tools & frameworks like Selenium, Appium, Protractor, RestSharp, Postman and Jasmine
• 5+ years of experience
• Automating FE using protractor testing framework
• Clear understanding of bug life cycle and can improve it per product need
• 4-5 years of experience on test automation (UI and API)
• Experience on testing APIs and their automation
• Design and create test conditions, test data and test scripts to address business and technical use cases
• Implementation of continuous testing as part of CI/CD pipeline (ADO or similar tools)
• Experience with Test Management Tools –ADO, Confluence, JIRA
• Should be able to understand functionalities well and be open minded for performing functional testing
• Experience testing software
• Experience on various test techniques and appropriate applicability/implementation

Top 3 Must Haves

• Automation testing – jest, protractor | 5 years of experience
• Tools - selenium, protractor or equivalent | 5 years of experience
• Languages - C#, Python, react or equivalent | 5 years of experience

Nice to Haves:

• Back-end Development experience
• DEVOPS
• Associates degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field
• React or C# based development experiences
• Backend API test automation and building monitors

Interview Process

Two rounds of interviews

• Second round with other team members
• First round 55 minutes with hiring manager or other team member
