WHAT DOES THIS JOB ENTAIL?
- Work in an iterative PDCA style on features that take a month or two to develop, not a year or two!
- Document your work in a structured manner, with focus on knowledge sharing.
- Deploy commercially viable solutions for world renowned customers.
- Develop the next generation of industrial solutions for food and agriculture quality check/ quality assurance, using computer vision techniques.
- Work alongside our world class team of hardware and software engineers and business teams to deploy innovative Savormetrics’ solutions.
- Improve our industry leading results, as well as shepherding future products to production.
- Take a leadership role in coaching staff.
WHAT EXACTLY WOULD YOU BE DOING?
As a key member of a small and versatile team, you will
- Coordinate with electrical engineers to advance the electrical architecture of our system
- R&D: Explore, simulate, and test new hardware products and configurations
- Lead our hardware development by setting objectives and driving tasks in collaboration with other team members
- Conduct detailed engineering analysis to drive design decisions
- Provide strategic direction and recommendations for the development of our product
- Coordinate with our software development team and AI team to ensure smooth integration of hardware updates
While this is a VP role that involves high-level decision-making and management, it also requires the candidate to roll up their sleeves and support the team hands-on when required.
WHAT EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE?
- Passion for well-engineered products with significant design experience on integrated systems with electrical, and mechanical components
- 10+ years as a technical director or engineering manager with responsibility for directing and managing cross-functional technical teams to develop electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems
- Ability to transform research articles into working solutions to solve real-world problems.
- Undergraduate or master's degree in mechanical or electrical Engineering or similar
- Exposure to Mechanical, electrical, electronics, AI and Software management at some point in career
- Excellent communication skills
- Experienced with Camera sensors and Lens optics and its respective equations
- Proven track record of delivering hardware products
- Appreciation for documentation
- Hands-on mechanical experience recently in career
- Team player excited about working in a dynamic startup environment
