Why us?

Think Research is a disruptive and rapidly growing software company that is changing the way healthcare is delivered across Canada, in the U.S. and EU. We are passionate about what we do, and even more so about the amazing people that help make what we do possible. Our technologies help deliver evidence based care to patients when they need it the most. We are growing our products to help meet the needs of clinicians across the world through innovative, knowledge based solutions. In short, we build software that saves lives!

Looking for a fresh challenge that truly allows you to feel your impact?

  • Mentorship from senior and c-level employees
  • Startup spirit
  • Macbook with Sketch, Flinto, Abstract, Zeplin
  • Opportunity to join a rapidly growing team of high-energy, brilliant people who are passionate about their work and colleagues
  • Be part of something special. It’s not every day that you get to change the way your friends and family are cared for
  • Casual dress code
  • Exciting, collaborative, fast-paced and multidisciplinary environment

About The Role

As a UX/UI Designer at Think Research, you’ll put user experience first. You’ll touch every part of the design process, developing your ideas and solutions from beginning to end – from user research to wireframing, to designing high-fidelity user interfaces, to iteratively testing your ideas – all in the pursuit to build amazing products for patients and clinicians.

What you’ll do

  • Seamlessly blend copy into the work you produce
  • Ensure modifications to existing features are designed and implemented on time and in a brand-consistent manner
  • Help level-up the design thinking of the entire organization
  • Drive the evolution of Think Research’s product suite across multiple devices with patient-safety always at the forefront
  • Work through the end-to-end design process on everything from small features to entirely new products, translating complex user needs into intuitive experiences
  • Facilitate and collaborate with others, taking a flexible and friendly approach to working with teams (product, engineering, client success, business development, R&D, etc.)
  • Gather data from users through interviews and usability tests, create and validate hypotheses regarding product design solutions, rapidly iterate on your ideas, and deliver product features and improvements that users will love
  • Solve core product problems while owning all facets of a user experience (strategy, IA, interaction design and research)
  • Lead by example by sharing your work early and often with other designers, developers and project stakeholders, understanding that feedback will only make your work stronger
  • Actively build empathy for the users of your products and embody their motivations, needs and pain points; represent your users when presenting ideas and solutions to team members and stakeholders

Who you are

  • You’re about more than making things beautiful, you are passionate about designing a sound user experience and bettering lives of others through your work.
  • You are a person of integrity; trust, sincerity and ethical decision-making are at the core of who you are and you model these values in your interactions with teammates and stakeholders
  • You embrace an attitude of learning and are always looking to raise your and your team’s knowledge-base
  • You are a strong communicator (both written and verbal, in 1-on-1s, group meetings, and online critiques), and can present complex ideas clearly and support your decisions with thoughtful rationales
  • You’re not intimidated by unstructured environments and steep learning curves; they motivate and push you to learn and work smarter
  • You use a user-centered design process which includes research, ideation, iteration and validation; you know when to apply the right methodology to the problem at hand
  • You actively seek feedback from others at all stages in the design process, knowing that feedback will only make your work stronger
  • You think critically, listen actively, and communicate kindly to peers and stakeholders alike
  • You’re user-focused and have built your career gaining a deep empathy for the users of your products. You understand complex workflows, test and challenge your assumptions, continuously incorporate feedback, and can translate into simplified user experiences

Requirements

  • Self-starter with 3+ years of product design experience shipping B2B and/or B2C products for web and mobile (experience in healthcare is a huge bonus)
  • Understanding development effort involved in creating your designs
  • Ability to communicate interactions and development requirements in handoffs
  • Strong understanding of critical thinking, design process and principles as demonstrated in a portfolio of live projects
  • Proficiency with current design tools including Sketch, InVision, etc.

Nice to have

  • Insight into how design can/should be implemented using correct code and components
  • Ability to create motion and animations using Flinto, Principle, InVision Studio, etc.
  • Experience working with and implementing WCAG Accessibility Standards
  • Resumes are useful, but they don’t say much about your skills or passion. We would love to see a web portfolio of design work. Please include a link to your portfolio in your resume.
  • Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, especially their issues and quirks
