Description

This is a hybrid working arrangement for the selected candidate with up to three times a week presence in the Guelph or Toronto office.

The Statement of Work (SOW) shall expire on 31st March 2024. Clients may exercise its option(s) to extend the SOW beyond 31st March 2024. Such extension(s) will be allowable only if the Master Service Agreement is extended beyond April 5, 2024 and be upon the same terms, conditions and covenants contained in the SOW

Responsibilities:Create effective, user friendly and visually appealing interfaces. Design the overall functionality of the product in order to ensure a great user experience, iterate upon it in accordance with user-testing. Design user interfaces for various projects such as digital displays, publications, media, and other creative materials as required. Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate the designs. Conceive and conduct user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, customer journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes

General Skills: Relevant experience creating GUI designs based on user interaction and performance Experience as a UX designer, interactive designer, UI designer, or similar role, designing for web and mobile applications Proficiency with design and prototyping tools Thorough understanding of the limitations and appropriate use of web development technologies Experience in designing online programs with emphasis in the emotional aspects of human experience Experience conceiving and conducting user research, interviews and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, user flows, user journey maps, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences Experience designing the overall functionality of the product, and in order to ensure a great user experience, iterate upon it in accordance with user-testing Experience designing and delivering wireframes, user stories, user flows, user journeys, mockups and prototypes optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces

Experience facilitating the client's product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for digital products and optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces Experience identifying design problems and devising elegant solutions Experience making strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core, and new, functions and features Experience gathering user feedback to configure existing interfaces A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines, managing competing priorities and client relationship management experience

Evaluation Criteria:

UX Designer skills - 45 points(weighted score)

• Strong knowledge of Salesforce UI and backend webpages layout
• 3+ years’ experience in User Interface designs
• Demonstrated experience in AODA act 2005 for WCAG elements implementation https://www.ontario.ca/page/about-accessibility-laws
• Demonstrated experience conducting iterative design proof-of-concepts / wireframes in Figma
• Demonstrated experience in Ontario Design System https://designsystem.ontario.ca/

Soft Skills - 20 points(weighted score)

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated experience working with clients and technical teams to ensure effective resolution of defects and management of change request are complete
• Experience reporting progress on deliverables to team, project leads and management, including proactively raising risks/issues with migrations
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

Agile Experience - 20 points(weighted score)

• Thorough understanding of SDLC, specifically QA processes in agile development environments
• Demonstrated experience with agile sprint management, bug tracking and testing life cycle management using Azure DevOps
• Experience with Agile scrum methodologies

Design Validation- 10 points(weighted score)

• Demonstrated experience conducting Ontario Design System validation for each UI object https://designsystem.ontario.ca/
• Demonstrated experience conducting validation and verification of all design elements on webpages

Public Sector Experience - 5 points(weighted score)

• Previous experience working in Government or Public Sector organizations

Must haves:

• 3+ years of experience in User Interface designs
